UNL PGM Tournament Guidelines
Rules:
USGA rules shall govern play except where modified by local rules. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted during tournament play. Metal spikes are not allowed.
Attire:
Proper golf attire is required. All competitors are to wear dress pants (slacks, Dockers, etc.) and a collared shirt. Shorts or jeans are not permitted.
Scorecards:
The player is responsible for returning his/her scorecard to thescores table promptly and properly signed. Scorecards that are not properly attested will not be accepted andplayers will be disqualified. Players are responsible for seeing that hole-by-hole scores are correct (regardless ofthe accuracy of addition or the totals) and that the card is attested. Unreasonable delay in returning cards orturning in incorrect cards will be subject to USGA rules and dealt with accordingly.
Conduct:
Conduct which is judged potentially injurious to the individual, the host professional, or the PGM Program, shall be subject for review by the Director and Coordinator. Abuses shall include excessive displays of temper, damaging club property,excessive swearing, excessive alcohol consumption, failure to comply with club or tournament policy, actionswhich cause hardship or embarrassment to the employees of the host club or any other action brought to theattention of the Director or Coordinator in the form of a formal complaint.
Slow Play:
The Director and Coordinator reserve the right to set forth Pace of Play Guidelines (including any penalties) foreach event.
Lateness:
All competitors are expected to start at assigned tee times. Competitors that are late will be dealt with according to USGA rules.
Tee Times:
Tee times will be assigned the day prior to the event.
Cancellations:
All cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to receive any portion of entry back. A $7.00 administrative fee will be withheld from such cancellations. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice and no-shows will not receive any portion of the entry fee back.
Entry Fee:
Entry fee must be paid in full to sign up for a tournament. Entries should be received in PGM Office by 8:00 a.m. the day prior to the event or by cutoff date, whichever is earlier. No entries will be accepted over the phone.
Inclement Weather:
The Director and the Coordinator shall have the right and authority to postpone orcancel play when weather or course conditions prevent play. In the event of such an occurrence, every effortwill be made to reschedule the cancelled event. If a paid entrant cannot play at the rescheduled time, the competitor will receive a full refund. After a round has begun, USGA policy willdictate.
Caddies, Carts and Walking:
Caddies are allowed and subject to USGA rules. Players may use a golf cart, at their own expense. Players using a golf cart must follow course cart rules for the given day (cart path only, 90 degree rule, etc.). Walking is permitted unless host site requires a cart. In such a case, the cart fee will be incorporated into the entry fee.
Purse Distribution:
Payouts for tournaments can be accepted as cash, gift certificate or merchandise at the discretion of the competitor. Refer to USGA.org for rules of amateur status. Payouts for tournaments will be made based on the following:
