Seder Check List

1)Set Table, do you need or want place cards?

2)Open Bottles of wine and grape Juice

3)Is your Matzah open and ready or measured out if you choose.

4)Do you have a Hamada for everyone at the table?

5)Seder plate:

  1. Zeroa: Shank Bone
  2. Baitza:: Hard boiled egg
  3. Marror: Horseradish
  4. Chazeret: Other type of Marror you are using during the Seder (see Marror below).
  5. Karpas: Whatever you are using to dip in the saltwater during the Seder (see Karpas below).
  6. Charoset: This is the Apples and Nut mixture

6)Urchatz: Many have a custom to bring the washing to the people at the table, so do you have a large bowl, pitcher and towels for this? I find the easiest way to do this is with three people. We fill a pitcher with water and pour from the pitcher into the washing cup. One person holds the bowl and towel while another pours and washes the hands. A third person is a runner refilling the pitcher as needed.

7)Karpas: You need little bowls of salt water placed around the table. You will also need anything that you would say a borai pri haadama bracha on. You only need a little piece for every person at your Seder. Anything that grows from the ground would qualify for example, celery, parsley, radish even potato!

8)Yachatz: Do you have three whole Matzahs in your Matzah cover? Do you have something to place the Afikomin into once the middle piece is broken?

9)Marror: You need horseradish to dip your Hillel sandwich into and another form of Marror to eat during “Marror”. Many people use endive or romaine lettuce and some use pieces of raw horseradish root.

10)Korech: This is when you make the sandwich with Matzah, Marror and chariest. So make sure you have enough Charoset!

11)Many have a custom to dip hard boiled eggs into the salt water before eating the meal. If you have this custom do you have hard boiled eggs?

12)Have you put together any games or treats to keep the children participating?

5)Have a candle to light to light from as an existing flame the second night. Many use yirtzeit candles for this.

6)Toilet paper ripped

7)Paper towels ripped

8)Disinfectant wipes ripped

9)Dishwashers empty

10) Any wet laundry in the washer you want to throw into the dryer

11) Everyone bathed or showered
