Geometry Unit 2: Reasoning and Proof Project

Personal Proof Portfolio Assignment
Assignment:
Choose an issue you feel passionately about and write a proof for your belief. Remember, you must have good justifications for each step of your argument. Refrain from using too much emotion.
This is going to be a multi-step assignment in which you will investigate, plan, design, and create a proof in many forms. As a final piece of this project, you will transform your personal proof into an action step or piece.
Piece #1: Decide and Investigate: You will spend the next couple of days looking at examples of the Personal Proof, deciding upon your own topic, and investigating your topic in further depth.
Topic: DUE
Investigation: DUE
NOTES FROM EXAMPLES:
What I noticed…….
What questions/concerns I have…..
Ideas for my own Personal Proof…..
Piece # 2: DESIGN and Rough Draft
Using the space provided on the Design sheet for the Portfolio folder, design the steps for your Personal Proof, make sketches of any graphics or artistic elements that you will include, and explain any changes that you have decided to make in your Personal Proof. You must also take into account the quality of your sources: if they are not valid or solid enough, you should look for further evidence of your argument with a better source. Finally, make sure that the steps in your Personal Proof flow logically—each step should lead into the next step and should further prove your own opinion or point.
You may write your rough draft on the given DESIGN paper OR you may write it on a separate sheet of paper.
Piece # 3: Final Draft and Presentation
Complete a professionally finished final draft of your Personal Proof. You will present this Personal Proof to the class.
