Communication Coordinator

Mission Statement:

The TrinityEvangelical Lutheran Church Stewardship Committee strives to educate members regarding stewardship, to increase awareness concerning our roles as stewards of God’s resources and realize that all we have is a gift from God. Also, to encourage our members to identify the spiritual gifts that God has entrusted to them and to use these gifts to further His Kingdom.

Description:

The CommunicationCoordinator is responsible for designing all Stewardship Committee communication pieces that are to be distributed to members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Communication Coordinator works closely with the Education Coordinator to determine the appropriateness of content and materials. The Communication Coordinator also works closely with the Mailing Coordinator to determine the timing and distribution method of communication pieces.

Qualifications:

  • Spiritually mature, active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
  • Recognized for his or her integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Marketing experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  1. Designall paper and electronic communication pieces of the Stewardship Committee to Church members. Included but not limited to: quarterly newsletter, “thank you” notes, special communication pieces, inserts with offering envelopes and bulletins, Church service slides, etc.
  2. Create a quarterly Stewardship Newsletter with materials provided from various sources including Education Coordinator, Pastors, Executive Board Members, Stewardship Committee Members, and appropriate outside resources.
  3. Design and implement stewardship piece for new members.
  4. Create inserts for bulletins with attention to special Church services and events.
  5. Maintain a Stewardship presence on the Church website.
  6. Create “thank you” note for gifts received.
  7. Communicate short and long term goals of the Church regarding stewardship.
  8. Encourage future giving and celebrate gifts received and projects accomplished.
  9. Ensure that all Stewardship Committee communication pieces have a professional appearance.

Time Commitment:

  • 12-15 hours per month
  • Three-year commitment and may be renewed/extended at the discretion of the Executive Board.

Relationships:The CommunicationCoordinator will work closely with ministerial staff, the Stewardship Committee, and primarily the Education and Mailing Coordinators.

Training:

Training for the Communication Coordinator will be provided by the outgoing Communication Coordinator and the support of the CommunicationCommittee members. One or two sessions may be necessary to review the current procedures. The incoming Communication Coordinator may shadow the outgoing Communication Coordinator for at least one quarter to observe the various mailing responsibilities. The outgoing Communication Coordinator should be available for questions and issues until they are comfortable with the overall process.
