Experience
On Sparkassen Informatik in Münster, I am working together with the systems programming team. We are running bank applications for ‘sparkassen’ nation wide in Germany. We are running
8 sysplex with 34 Systems. The systems are running z/OS release 1.2.
I was involved in the migration from OS/390 2.9 to z/OS 1.2. Now we are going to 1.4.
I have been trouble shooting both IBM and none IBM system products. As well as I have been upgrading / installing IBM and none IBM products. Using all the known IBM facilities and tools. SMPE - RACF – HSM – ISMF – DFDSS –SDSF – PDF – JCL - USS – ICF - JES2 – EHONE – RMF -- SLIP and so on.

On the IBM development centre in Böblingen, new software and hardware is developed and tested. We are running something like 170 Systems. Half of them native, and the rest as VM guests. The systems are running OS/390 release 2.6 – 2.10 and z/OS release 1.1 – 1.3 and recently Linux.
Our hardware ranges from G3 to G7.
On the helpdesk we have access to all the systems in order to support the developers. For that
reason we install / deinstall usermods, apars and ptfs using SMPE. We give support for all kind of problems and requests, using all the known IBM facilities and tools. RACF – HSM – ISMF – DFDSS –SDSF – PDF – JCL - USS – ICF - JES2 – EHONE – RMF -- SLIP and so on.

From my time on SAP, I have a basic knowledge of USS.
We were running 8 lpars in a parallel sysplex on two ten way processors, and one stand alone lpar for Y2K test. We were running os/390 release 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7.
We had 5 RVA’s and a tape Library .
My job was to maintain and administer this complex, together with one more systems programmer.
Furthermore we were giving support to the SAP developers, developing for the OS/390
platform.
So in fact I was working as an all round systems programmer, - administrator and operator. Using all the known IBM facilities and tools. RACF – HSM – ISMF – DFDSS –SDSF – PDF – JCL - USS – ICF - JES2 – EHONE – RMF -- SLIP and so on.

From my time in Jyske Bank I am experienced in installing and maintaining both IBM and non IBM basis software.
HSM:
SMS: I have been working with storage management for some years, when we where
implementing SMS and HSM.
HCD/HCM: I was involved in the conversion from using the old IO-gen to use the dynamic
IO-generation in HCD.
SMPE: One of my main jobs was to maintain the base products from IBM and OEM
vendors using SMPE.
NON/IBM I was responsible for installing and maintaining the following non IBM products:

As workstation I am used to Windows NT and Windows 2000 and have a basic understanding of the PC software and hardware. I have been working with windows XP and Linux.
Since 2004 I have been working a lot with windows, Linux, Hercules and MVS 3.8 under Hercules.
In the last period before 2004, I was so troubled by a born heart decease, that I had to stop working, when my contract was ending in 2004.
The first of June this Year I have got an artificial heart valve, and have another valve straightened up, so it is tight!!!!!!
That means, that I am now more Fit than I ever was. And I am keen for a new contract.
