Qualifications
✓A legal qualification is essential for this role.
✓Qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister would be preferable, but other forms of qualification would be considered.
✓Desirable to have knowledge of the law on SEN and disabilities, including up-to-date knowledge of SEND procedures
✓Understanding of good practice in internal and external communications and engagement
✓Degree level education or equivalent relevant experience
2. Experience
✓Knowledge and experience of court/tribunal and Judicial Review.
✓Individual and team leadership and experience
✓Development and implementation of strategic plans
✓Developing and implementing efficient systems and processes within an organisation
✓Management of a legal team
✓Management of legal services and legal resources
✓Developing and implementing communications strategies
3. Skills
✓People Management, leadership and mentoring skills
✓Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to be impactful with people of varying levels of seniority and experience
✓Demonstrates strong written language skills, in particular the ability to communicate accurately, succinctly and persuasively
✓Good legal scrutiny and research skills
✓Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail
✓Ability to be flexible regarding working hours and willing to travel to deliver training as required
✓Tact and diplomacy skills whilst dealing with conflict and ability to retain a positive outlook.
✓Ability to work collaboratively at a senior level
✓Ability to use Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet and diary software
✓I.T. literacy including confidence to work with CRM and data management systems
✓Organised and efficient with attention to detail

✓Management of other IPSEA staff as and when required
