Permission to view videos in U.S. History

Video plays a significant role in enhancing the educational experience of students in United States History. Avon School Board Policy requires a parent signature for the usage of R rated materials in the classroom. The history of this nation is not rated PG. Every video shown in this class will be with an educational purpose and with the intent of presenting material included in the academic state standards. Sometimes violence and language can be beyond what is considered appropriate for the school setting. Every effort will be made to limit the exposure to this language, but it most certainly cannot be fully eliminated. Some video also contains violence such as war footage.There will also be some Holocaust footage. It is imperative that you as a parent are aware and approve. If you have any questions concerning the use of video in class please contact me at Avon High School. (544-5000 ext 5191 or ) It is required that a permission slip be signed and returned before your son or daughter can view any such video. Thank you very much for your understanding on this subject.
