Joining the PDSEBank – essential information

Quality lies at the heart of all that PDSE does and it therefore seeks to ensure that the best people for the job are available through the PDSE Staff Bank. As an NHS provider, PDSE is required to be registered with theCare Quality Commission(CQC) and, as part of this registration is required to comply with theHealth and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014(as amended)and theCare Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.The Regulations outline a set of fundamental standards which must be met, including having robust recruitment and employment practices in place to verify a person's suitability for the job they are being appointed to do. PDSE demonstrates that it is in compliance with the relevant fundamental standards by undertaking the checks outlined within the NHS Employment Check Standards.
The NHS Employment Check standards apply to all applications, including permanent and temporary staff and staff working on a bank. The process ensures that everyone working for PDSE has passed the following checks:
  1. Identity
  2. Right to work
  3. Professional registration and qualifications
  4. Employment history and references
  5. Criminal record and barring
  6. Work health assessments
These checks can be time consuming and it is important that applicants and their referees provide us with the information that we require as quickly as possible; and that such information is complete.
If your application to join the PDSE StaffBank is successful, it means that you will be registered for available shifts which match your work preferences as well as your skills and experience. We cannot guarantee that you will find shifts that match your work preferences.
