PAVS runs this award scheme to recognise and celebrate the real difference volunteers make to communities in Pembrokeshire and to themselves

Award Categories

There are 6 categories for nominations:

  1. Young Volunteer of the Year Award (Under 25)
  2. Volunteer of the Year Award (Over 25)
  3. The Mary Sigley Award * - where volunteering has made a huge difference to the life of a volunteer
  4. Trustee Award
  5. Group Award for a group of volunteers working within one organisation (volunteers aged primarily over 25)
  6. Youth Group Award for a group of young volunteers within one organisation (volunteers aged primarily under 25)

All nominees, including winners, of the awards will be contacted by PAVS and invited to attend an Award Ceremony on June 9th 2016.

*This award celebrates the life, sense of fun, and true community spirit of Mary Sigley who worked with PAVS for a short time, but made a huge impact on us all because of her enthusiasm and belief in what people could achieve. Mary sadly died in 2006 - we continue to miss her and have created this award in her memory.

Rules of the award scheme

  • Nominations must be received by May 20th 2016 at PAVS Office, 36-38 High Street, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire SA61 2DA using this form or a photocopied version. Alternatively you can download an electronic version of the form online at
  • Nominees must be living and volunteering in Pembrokeshire.
  • Permission must be sought from the nominee.
  • Nominees of the awards will be contacted by PAVS and invited to attend an Award Ceremony in Volunteers Week (June 3rd 2015) and photographs and information regarding their volunteering may be used for publicity purposes.
  • An independent panel of judges consisting of PAVS staff, trustees and representatives of the voluntary sector will make the final decision on winning entries.
  • Volunteers cannot be nominated by themselves or a family member.
