JOB TITLE:Job Coach/ Employer Liaison

Fixed Term Contract Expires 30th April 2015

RESPONSIBLE TO:Project Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:As part of the Project Delivery Team to contribute to the assessment of participants, identify vocational goals as well as training needs and to develop relevant work placements and sustainable employment opportunities. Assess and profile all placements and assist participants to integrate fully into the workplace. Monitor and evaluate performance and development to ensureclient progression.Ensure a high level of customer service through effective account management of local employers and relevant stakeholders, for example Chamber of Commerce, partner organisations, employers, training organisations.

Salary:€34,365.00 per annum

Essential Criteria:

  1. Experience working as a job coach or in the area of supported employment.
  2. Experience creating opportunities for work placement or paid work with employers
  3. Experience in reaching targets and achieving results
  4. Experienced in using CRM tools and presenting data
  5. Experience in delivering training to small groups or one-to-one as appropriate
  6. Experienced in building relationship and networking
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  8. Experienced in work under own initiative
  9. Access to own transport. A transport allowance up to a maximum of €100 per month will be available subject to vouched expenditure.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Relevant 3rd level qualification

KEY DUTIES:

  1. To work with other members of the project delivery teams in drawing up and delivering training and development activities relevant to participants needs
  2. Conduct all related assessment of the workplace prior to job start, including job profiling and task analysis.
  3. Develop a job profile that is compatible with the employers needs and takes into account the participants interests and abilities
  4. Prepare a detailed job task analysis and identify vocational goals that will feed into participants training and development plan
  5. Assist the client to learn and carry out tasks to the specifications outlined in the job profile and assesses the participants ability to function within the work environment
  6. To help the client integrate fully into the workplace and with co-workers
  7. Assist the client to learn the specific requirements and duties of the job as well as other work-related activities such as time keeping and attendance.
  8. Identify any training needs required to maintain employment e.g. travel training
  9. To monitor and evaluate the participants performance and development within the work placement and ensure progression by providing continued support.
  10. Following a positive outcome of a customer into placement or employment, remain in contact with the employer and customer to maximise sustainability.
  11. Carry out health & safety pre-placement audits in accordance with company procedures
  12. To contribute to client review, monitoring and evaluation of activities and ensure proper records kept.
  13. To liaise with parents, carers, employers, training staff in respect of supporting participants.
  14. To ensure that all aspects of project administration relevant to your activity of work are completed to timescales set and level of accuracy required.
  15. To ensure that client training and development activities are carried out safely.
  16. To provide support for participants going into placement or employment according to need.
  17. Proactive involvement with relevant local stakeholders such as Chamber of Commerce, Employment Partnership Groups, Local Authorities.
  18. Attend relevant Job Fairs and other recruitment events as appropriate.
  19. To represent WALK in a professional manner and to operate within its policies.
  20. To maintain complete confidentiality over the details of participants or WALK business made known to you from any source and only to impart such details when authorised to do so by line managers.
  21. To partake in any training or personal development activities that is appropriate to Walk or the project’s needs.

The duties of the post are not exhaustive, but serve as a guide to the current and major responsibilities of the post. WALKis a growing organisation and is operating in a dynamic environment. In order to maintain its survival and employees it may from time to time need to vary the role and responsibilities of the post. In view of this, the job description will be reviewed on a regular basis and may need to be altered. Such changes will be in consultation with the post holder.
