  1. Participation in horse riding activities involves the real risk of injury, possibly serious. This includes injury related to or resulting from pre-existing disabilities or medical conditions.
  2. Injury may be unforeseen, accidental or preventable and although uncommon, the injury may be extremely serious. You therefore acknowledge that the most common injury is the result of a fall from a horse, and that this may have been caused by failure to follow instructions, failure to wear protective equipment, carelessness, the negligence of co-participators, animal misbehaviour and other causes.
  3. By participating, the Rider (you) accepts all risks consequent upon his/her participation, which could result in loss of life, temporary or permanent injury or economic loss and injury to his/her horse. Accordingly, the Rider (you) releases Peel Metropolitan Adult Riders Club Inc (the Provider) from, and will indemnify it, (to the extent his/her actions are not excused or protected by law), against all liability for all injury, loss and damage arising out of or connected with participation in Peel Metropolitan Adult Riders Club activities. A horse can kick, bite, bolt, fall, jump, buck, pig-root, rear, roll, shy and stand on you while you are near or on it (Risk). The Risks increase in (but are not limited to) circumstances in which more than one horse is ridden/handled at the same time; other riders/handlers are unable to control their horses safely for want of skill/experience; other riders/handlers breach applicable rules or are negligent; the condition of the venue is affected by weather; or when the horse is led onto or off the float or trailer.
  6. The Rider (you) understands that the following may be present or occur on or close to the Property where the Provider conducts its horse-related activities and can increase Risks: horses alone or in groups; vehicles, motorbikes, tractors and trucks, stationary or moving; border, arena or paddock fencing of various types; equipment used in the training of horses; rocky or waterlogged terrain; rabbit holes; dogs on the loose or raucous children and fallen tree debris. 2. The Rider (you) warrants that all equipment provided or used by him/her while at Peel Metropolitan Adult Riders Club is in good condition and fit for its purpose, and that any animal used by the Rider (you) is in good physical condition and is appropriate for his/her riding experience and anticipated activities.
