PE Swimming Classes

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Greetings from the PE Department! Please check the highlights about approaching PE swimming unit.

Swimming Unit starts on March 16th

Grade 3 students commence swimming unit on March 16th and will follow Learn -To- Swim program for six weeks. Swimming classes will be organized during regular PE lessons.

The weather is warming up and both pools are heated for the students comfort. During lessons, our PE teachers and aquatics staff will follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills and to build on ones previously learned.

What to bring

·  Swim suit. One piece swim suit for girls.

·  Goggles

·  Swimming cap is must for all swimmers with medium or long hair

·  Towel

All items are available at the SCO Boutique for purchase. Please label all items and a swimming bag!

Learn – To- Swim Program Information

UNIS swim program is following American Red Cross Learn –To Swim program based on 6 swimming levels. You can find information about swimming levels and expectations for each level on UNIS Hanoi website, PE Aquatics page (please click here). All ES students will be assessed at the end of the swimming unit according to the Learn-To-Swim Program. The Achievement Card will be issued and added to each student portfolios at the end of the school year. The certificate indicating your son/daughters achieved swimming levels will be sent to you digitally at the end of the school year.

ES Grade 2&3 Swim Meet Information

All G3 students will participate in ES Grades 2&3 Swim Meet on April 24 (12:30-15:20). Information about the meet can be found on UNIS Hanoi website, PE Aquatics /PE swim meet page (please click here).

All parents are welcome to attend the event!

Missing Swimming Lessons

“A medical note should be sent if a student is to be excused from any aspect of PE lessons for a prolonged period of time.” (ES Handbook)
