SUMMARY

OBJECTIVE

My objective is to find a position in a design or construction related firm where I can use my previous experience as a project architect to aide the project team in the delivery of the project to the client. I believe that my previous experience shows that I have the skills and knowledge in crucial areas like energy efficiency, cost control, meeting schedules and budgets along with being able to work with the client and contractor for a successful project.

During the past year I have been assigned as a team member on the Banner Healthcare project. My roles consist of providing construction administration to a new startup hospital for Banner Healthcare in Queen Creek Arizona. Task included answering RFI’s, reviewing construction shop drawings for compliance with the design and aiding the contractor and the owner with implementing the construction contracts. Other task included writing specifications for a new VA Ambulatory care center in Harlingen Texas and assisting staff with production needs.

Previous to the Banner Project my role as project architect included the design of several large scale projects located in the Phoenix area. Project types included Healthcare, Office work place, technology and governmental. The last three projects where I have been involved in the design of the buildings have resulted in regional or national awards. Some of these projects also have been awarded L.E.E.D. Gold by the USGBC. My role as project architect included the development of the design documents from the schematic phase through the construction documents. Task included directing the junior architects and coordinating the other disciplines and consultants on the project, meeting with the owner and user groups to facilitate the design process. Other task included writing specifications, development of the design using 3d and 2d Autodesk Architectural desktop and Revit software.

Provided Architectural services to small business owners, developers and private clients located in St. Louis Missouri. Scope of work included marketing, writing proposals, estimating, Architectural design and construction documents and specifications. Coordination of consultants and construction administration of multiple projects. Prepare various pre-design services for new clients including due diligence reports, construction budgets and programming services. Market sectors includes institutional, commercial, retail and residential. Project size ranges from 1,000 sf to 40,000 s.f., one to four story buildings. Market sectors consisted of 95% commercial and 5% residential.

Scope of work includes role as a project architect on various projects for industrial based clients including Solutia and Malinckrodt. Worked on several projects including new and renovation of existing facilities. Typical project task included developing the design from a written scope through programming and then through construction documents. Task also included writing specifications, project scope and estimates of projected man-hours. Site visits and documenting as-built conditions were typical on determining the impact of the design on existing facilities.

SOFTWARE USED

I have been involved in computer aided design and other related computer tools used in the design and management of construction projects. These include 2d and 3d software for design, including Microstation, AutoCAD 2009, Architectural Desktop, Sketch up, Datacad and limited use with Revit. Software for project management – Microsoft Office including M.S. Project, Premavera P3 scheduling software and Navis Works collaboration software. Design and graphic tools used include Photo shop and Corel Draw and misc rendering software. Other misc software used for creating web sites using HTML and Java scripts.
