Campbell Elementary School

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Campbell Elementary School, students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families, agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement as well as describes how school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.

To understand how working together can benefit your child, it is first important to understand our district’s and school’s goals for student academic achievement.

Fulton County Schools Goals:

·  Graduation Rate – 90% of Fulton’s students will graduate on time

·  College Readiness – 85% of Fulton’s seniors will be eligible for admission to a University System of Georgia college or university

·  Career Readiness – 100% of Fulton’s graduates will be work-ready certified

Campbell Elementary School Goals:

·  Increase the percentage of Kindergarten-2nd grade students meeting the standard in Mathematics on the STAR Early Literacy and Math Assessment by 3%

·  Meet and/or exceed the state performance targets on the Georgia Milestones Assessment in Mathematics with an emphasis on the following domains: Numbers and Operations (3rd Grade), Numbers and Operations in Base 10 (4th Grade), and Numbers in Operations with Fractions (5th Grade)

School Responsibilities:

Campbell Elementary School, will:

1.  Provide high quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student achievement standards by providing:

·  Intervention and remediation programs (Early Intervention Program, Extended Learning Program, Saturday School, Summer Academy, and universal screener (STAR Math)

·  Departmentalized grade levels (4th and 5th), Inclusion, and push-in EIP models

·  Achievement leveled classroom grouping and teacher/student looping

2. Hold parent-teacher conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

·  Parent-teacher conferences will be held twice a year or as needed by the parent and/or teacher.

3. Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.

·  Parents and teachers will be able to communicate through the Teacher Parent Access Center, email, written notices, phone calls, or face to face.

4. Provide parents reasonable access to staff:

·  Through our open-door policy, parents are able to visit classrooms or call teachers. Phone calls will be returned within 24 hours.

5. Parent’s opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s learning and to observe classroom activities are as follows:

·  After completing mandatory Volunteer Orientation, parents are welcomed at any time to read to classes, assist with a small group of students, proctor during testing, and/or assist in the media center.

·  Attend:

§  State of the School Address to receive information on school achievement and initiatives

§  Coffee & Conversation to discuss school improvement goals and current progress

§  Lunch & Learn Workshops that provided core content strategies to use with students

Parent Responsibilities:

We, as parents will:

·  Communicate with my child’s teachers on a regular basis.

·  Provide a home environment that encourages my child to learn by utilizing Home Access, attending academic parent workshops and checking out educational resources and materials from the Parent Resource Center. The Parent Resource Center provides various math related resources and workshops which include but not limited to:

§  Flash Masters

§  Math Learning Hot Dots

§  Study Buddies

§  Skill Books

§  Starting Strong with Hands On in Math Workshop

§  Georgia Milestones Test Prep Session

·  Become involved in my child’s learning by visiting their classroom, assisting with homework and projects, reading the weekly newsletters, listening to School Messenger announcements, volunteering, and attending parent/teacher conferences regularly.

Student Responsibilities:

I, as a student will:

·  Believe that I can and will learn by challenging myself and becoming an independent learner. I can accomplish this by setting academic goals with my teacher and having student/teacher conferences regularly.

·  Work cooperatively with my classmates and teachers by utilizing online programs like Study Island and Edmodo to get additional support Mathematics.

·  Enhance my use of technology by utilizing instructional technology tools such as iPads and laptops to build life learning skills.

·  Utilize school resources by participating in school sponsored events and clubs such as Literacy night, Georgia Milestones Night, Family Book Club, Student Council, or Environmental Club to help achieve my school’s goals.

Please review this School-Parent Compact with your child. This School-Parent Compact will be discussed with you throughout the year at different school-family events as we work together to help your child succeed in school.
