Chief Examiners' Feedback
The Chief Examiners' Feedback from the May exams is now online. This year's exams highlighted a need to both use the mock exams provided, and to create your own. LI Advisory Council
Amanda McDermott, Licentiate rep on the Advisory Council, attended the July 3rd meeting. There's a lot of developments being discussed at the LI, and few of them are shown here in a summary of her meeting notes:
- Key theme: Broadening membership. The LI is currently researching and drafting a strategy to be more inclusive, increase influence, and broaden the membership base whilst still maintaining the integrity of the CMLI qualification.
- Honorary Treasurer. Next Council elections Spring 2015.
- The first 'newly qualified CMLI celebration' will be held in November. The event will celebrate and mark the achievement of the year's newly qualified CMLI members.
- TheP2C syllabus will be modified to include a requirement for candidates to speak in schools as ambassadors. Careers materials will be developed and provided by the Education & Membership team. (As the Licentiate rep, Amanda is excited to see this happen. She said is a good example of the real difference you can make by getting involved with the LI careers project.)
- How can we tackle the plight of the public sector, and university courses?
The full minutes will be available on the Governance page of the Members Only Section on the Landscape Institute website. The next LI Advisory Council meeting is on October 16th.
