Join us this weekend … right here on 98.1 CKVN Saturday/Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
FROM VOICE OF THE MARTYRS – Iran - "Amir" has been in prison and sentenced to death for the past two years after he was caught with a truckload of Bibles. On July 23rd, an execution date for Amir was set for the week of August 11th in punishment for his "crimes" against Islam and the government. Amir's devastated mother is urgently requesting prayers for the deliverance of her son.
Please also pray that the authorities involved in Amir's case will seek justice on his behalf and ensure that he is treated favourably. May they, along with the inmates incarcerated with Amir, come to know Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

REFORMED YOUNG ADULT RETREAT - Are you a Reformed young adult wondering if our culture has become so morally toxic that it’s impossible to clean up? Maybe you are wondering how on earth you are supposed to get an education, find a decent job, and transform culture while you’re at it? Join us from August 25 - 29 in beautiful Deroche, BC as we seek answers to these and other questions at the 2014 Reformed College and Careers Retreat! Dr. Faber is a professor at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario. THE CADET 2014 INTERNATIONAL CAMPOREE was another success. We had 11 cadets, 1 junior counsellor, and 3 counsellors who attended. Brody Van’t Land, Drew Barwegen, Jonathan Barwegen, James Reitsma, Jude Laarman, Dusdyn Lindhout, Eric Van Reeuwyk, Rhys Van Reeuwyk, Devan Schalk, Steven Schalk, and Zachariah Pool as cadets; David Schalk as junior counselor; Darcy Ingold as counselor; Clarence and Alex Slomp as part of staff, and our bee patrol. Each cadet, junior counsellor, and counsellorwas in a different cadre and met different people from all over North America. Our activities included archery, adventure challenge, canoeing, geocaching, riflery, service project, and souvenir craft. We started each day at 6:00 am, with an assembly where we opened the day in worship and devotions. We closed each day with an assembly and devotions, followed by an evening program of worship songs, and speakers. During the day we did our activities, cooked our own meals and had cadre devotions. Friday started windy and a little rainy. Throughout the day we had to evacuate camp as the wind broke trees, and trees fell into camp sites. We had to spend the night in Woody Nook CRC, outside Lacombe. This was quite the task for the host committee; after all there were about 1100 people! We slept anywhere and everywhere we could, on church pews, the floor, and in classrooms. On Sunday we served around 4800 meals for our guests and ourselves. We will be happy to talk about our adventure if anyone would like more information, just ask anyone who attended. We would like to thank our church family for keeping us in your prayers; you were in ours as well. Most of all we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for keeping us under His loving care. Our next adventure will be in July 2017 in South Dakota. There is a lot more Icould add, but the stories are better told in person, not in print.Living For Jesus, Darcy Ingold
To all who attended the 2014 International Camporee, and parents, please meet me in the Cadet room right after this morning’s service. Thank you, Darcy Ingold
OUR CHURCH FAMILY
We are thankful that Kaitlin Van Dellen was able to be released from the hospital after receiving the antibiotics that she needed.
Hennie Korver was involved in a rather serious car accident last Sunday on her way home from church. We give thanks to God that her injuries were not more extensive. She sustained three broken bones in her left arm and a broken right wrist. We are thankful for her good spirits and pray for her complete recovery. She remains in the Lethbridge Hospital at this time.
