Newcastle Borough Council has a temporary, part-time opportunity within the Partnerships Team for Partnerships Interventions Officer.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual, to support the Partnerships Manager by developing approaches to deal with key community safety challenges in the Borough, in conjunction with a range of partner organisations from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors.

The role will act as the lead officer for the Borough Council, to deliver priorities as agreed by the Newcastle Partnership – tackling crime and disorder, in particular but not limited to, anti-social behaviour and gangs and youth violence in the Borough through innovative and outcome-focused approaches.

You will need to be a well organised team player with a creative mind and excellent problem solving skills, who is capable of working well under their own initiative.

You will have a good working knowledge of community safety and more specifically anti-social behaviour and gangs and youth violence, with a high level of confidence and integrity.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to demonstrate that you have experience of dealing effectively and professionally with a wide range of internal and external customers and partners. You should be IT literate and have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A* - C (or equivalent), including Maths and English.

Previous experience of working in a partnerships or multi agency environment and in delivering projects is essential. You will need a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use that you are prepared to use for work purposes. Occasional out of hours working may be required.
