Part-Time Children's Ministry Coordinator

Definition:

The Children's Ministry Coordinator(CMC) is responsible for adapting lessons to create and execute engaging children's curriculum and ministry programming.This person will develop creative large group lessons to present to children ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade and assist in special events andvolunteer recruitment. This individual must be comfortable engaging with large groups of people during the Saturday and Sunday service times and they must model a servant style leadership at all times.They are required to help with both training and encouraging volunteers weekly and be a team player ready to step into necessary roles within a growing and diverse congregation.

Time Commitment and Relationship:

This is a part-time position and does not qualify for benefits. The CMC reports directly to the Director of Children's Ministries and will serve within the Build Ministry area of the church.

Salary Rate: .5 Fulltime equivalent (FTE) Annual Salary of $13,520.00

Special Note: This part-time position will require Saturday and Sunday Services and a week day schedule that will be determined, along with some Tuesday morning staff meetings. Flexibility in schedule during special events is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

•Demonstrate ownership for and effectiveness in communicating and fulfilling Central's vision, mission, core values and theological convictions.

•Assist Children's Ministries in all events, including lesson plans, recruiting and training volunteers, teaching through engaging and creative styles with large groups of children, partnering with all aspects and areas of Children's Ministries, rely on a team work approach.

•Model a positive attitude and servant leadership when developing volunteers.

•Assist with office type duties such as copying curriculum, preparing children's service bins for small groups, camps or special event projects, and any other areas assigned by the Children's Ministry Director.

•Personable skills in order to reach both children and their families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Qualifications

•Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with our Statement of Faith.

•Proficient with grammar and the English language

•Ability to proofread and edit all publications.

•Demonstrate administrative and organizational skills.

•Proven professional manner in person and on the phone with staff and congregation members.

•2 years of experience preferred, strong prayer life and a healthy biblical knowledge.

•Patience as you will work with hundreds of children, families, and volunteers.

•Able to make quick decisions and be flexible.

Expectations:

•Ability to work well with other staff and volunteer team members in a mutually teachable, mutually submissive collaborative environment.

•Theology and personal convictions (behavior) compatible with the existing church leadership.

•A commitment to ongoing personal, professional and spiritual development.

•Membership at Central Baptist Church is required once hired.

•Regular attendance at worship and church functions.

•Work week will be flexible and will require weekend and evening hours.
