ABERCONWY - No. 2023 (Howarth, 1986). Double. Trailer. Three quarter flared 32mm (1 1 /4") long x 25mm (1") wide COROLLA is white, heavily veined old rose with smooth petal edges. 4-7mm (1/8-1/4") long x 7mm wide PETALOIDS are old rose. Fully up 29mm (1 1/8") long x 13mm (1/2") wide SEPALS are old rose. Proportionately medium TUBE is old rose. STAMENS extend 32mm below corolla with red filaments and pink anthers. PISTIL extends 38mm (1 1/2") below corolla with red style and pink stigma. Rounded BUD. FOLIAGE is medium green on the upper surface, lighter on the lower surface with 44mm (1 3/4") long x 25mm wide ovate shaped leaves, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins, stems and branches are red. PARENTAGE: 'Gay Fandango' x 'Swingtime'. Natural trailer. Will make a good basket and shrub border and may be left over winter. Cold weather hardy to 25ºF with best bloom color in bright light. Tested 13 years in Timperley Cheshire and Llanrhos, Gwynedd, UK. Distinguished by hardiness.

ADRIAN YOUNG - No. 1983. (Young, 1986). Semi-double. Upright. Half flared bell shaped 22mm (7/8") long x 38mm (1 1/2") wide COROLLA opens light pink (56C) maturing slightly darker with smooth petal edges. Horizontally held 32mm ( 1 1/4") long x 13mm (1/2") wide SEPALS are light pink (54D) on the upper surface, slightly lighter (54C) on the lower surface with green recurved tips. Proportionately short thin 13mm long x 7mm (1/4") wide TUBE is light pink (56C). STAMENS extend 7mm below corolla with reddish pink (55A) filaments and pale pink (56D) anthers. PISTIL extendS 25mm (l") below corolla with light pink (56A) style and pale pink (56D) stigma. Round pointed BUD shape. FOLIAGE is light green (139C) on the upper surface, grey-green (194A) on the lower surface with 57mm (2 1/4") long x 29mm (1 1/8") wide leaves with serrate edges, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins are light green with reddish stems and branches. PARENTAGE: sport of 'His Excellancy' x 'Golden Border Queen'. Self-branching medium upright. Will make a good basket, upright, standard or bedding plant. Prefers a cool or warm climate and is cold weather hardy to 40ºF. Best bloom and foliage color in bright light. Takes 3 weeks for sepals to open to horizontal. Tested 3 years in Kearsley, Bolton, Manchester, England, UK. Distinguishing features: good border plant, foliage color.

AMERICAN NIKKI - No. l945. (Walker, l986). Single to semi-double. Trailer. Quarter flared pleated bell shaped l6-l9mm (5/8-3/4") long x l9-22mm (3/4-7/8") wide COROLLA opens rose-vermillion maturing reddish-plum to dark vermillion with smooth petal edges. None to few dark rose-wine splotched orange PETALOIDS are very small to about 3/4 size of corolla petal. Half up l0-13mm (3/8-l/2") long x 32-35mm (l l/4-l 3/8") wide SEPALS are light rose on the upper surface, rose to orangish salmon on the lower surface with recurved tips. Proportionately medium to long l9-25mm (3/4-l") long x 7-8mm (l/4-5/l6") wide TUBE is olive green maturing to white with a slight rose cast and of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 13-l9mm below corolla with pink filaments and grey-white anthers. PISTIL extends 25-44mm (l-l 3/4") below corolla with pink style and grey-white stigma. Plump ovate BUD. FOLIAGE is medium green on the upper surface, lighter on the lower surface with ovate shaped 70mm (2 3/4") long x 38-52mm (l l/2-2") wide leaves, serrulate edges, acute tips and modified obtuse bases. Veins, stems and young branches are light green with mature branches brownish green. PARENTAGE: 'Novella' x 'Orange Drops'. Self-branching natural trailer. Will make a good basket or trellis. Prefers overhead filtered light and is heat tolerant if shaded. Cold weather hardy to 30ºF. Best bloom color in bright light. Awards: trophy l985 Sacramento show. Mostly semi-double blooms with occasional single blooms, steady bloomer at terminals, needs occasional heavy feed. Tested 4 years near Sacramento, California, USA and introduced in 1984. Distinguished by contrast of corolla colors, floriferousness, rapid growth.

ANACAPA™ - No. 2012. (Schneider, 1986). Single. Upright. Half flared 13mm (1/2") long x 5mm (3/16)" wide COROLLA is rose red (52A) with smooth turned up petal edges. Half up13mm long x 4mm (1/8") wide SEPALS are rose (50A) on the upper surface, rose red on the lower surface with green recurved tips. Proportionately medium TUBE is rose red shading paler towards top. STAMENS extend 13mm (1/2") below corolla with pale pink (49D) filaments and white anthers. PISTIL extends 16mm (5/8") below corolla with rose red style and white stigma. Triphylla type bloom. FOLIAGE is medium green (138A) on the upper surface, lighter (138B) on the lower surface with 165mm (6 1/2") long x 70mm (2 3/4") wide elliptic shaped leaves, entire edges, acute tips and obtuse bases. Red veins, stems and branches. PARENTAGE: F. boliviana x 'Mary'. Medium upright. Prefers overhead filtered light, is heat tolerant if shaded and is cold weather hardy to 32ºF. Trademarked in California. Awards: First, NFS Shows. Heavy blooming, easy to grow and propagate. Tested 5 years in Oxnard, California, USA and introduced in 1984. Distinguishing features: heat and cold tolerance.

ANNIE ADRIAENS - No. 2026 (Vrindts, 1986). Double. Upright. Half flared 17mm (5/8") long x 30mm (1 1/8") wide COROLLA opens sea lavender violet (HCC 637/3) maturing to amethyst violet (35/3) with smooth to wavy petal edges. 12mm (1/2") long x 9mm(3/8") wide PETALOIDS are violet (36/3). Half up 24mm (1") long x 22mm (7/8") wide SEPALS are dawn pink (523/3) on the upper surface, slightly darker (523/1) on the lower surface with reflexed tips. Proportionately short 7-8mm (1/4") long x 11mm (3/8") wide milky white TUBE is of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 43mm (1 3/4") below corolla with spinel red (23/3) filaments and anthers. PISTIL extends 57mm (12 1/4") below corolla with french rose (520/3) style and stigma. Flat squarish BUD. FOLIAGE is sage green (861) on the upper surface, willow green (862) on the lower surface with 45mm (1 3/4") long x 28mm (1 1 /8") wide lanceolate shaped leaves, serrate edges, acute tips and rounded bases.

Veins, stems and branches are willow green. PARENTAGE: 'Treasure' x 'La Campanella'. Self branching upright. Prefers a warm or cool climate and is heat tolerant if shaded. Cold weather hardy to 42ºF. Best bloom color in limited light. Grows better outdoors than under glass, easy to grow. Tested 3 years in the vicinity of Liege, Belgium. Distinguishing features:

early long lasting blooms.

ATLANTIC STAR - No. 1981. (Redfern, 1986). Single. Upright. Non-flaring bell shaped 25mm (1") long x 19mm (3/4") wide COROLLA opens white striped pale pink (39D) at base maturing to white with a lighter pink base and smooth petal edges. Horizontally held 38mm (1 1/2") long x 13mm (1/2") wide SEPALS are white striped pale pink at base on the upper surface, white blushed pink on the lower surface with recurved green tips. Proportionately short 10mm (3/8") long x 6mm (1/4") wide cream TUBE is striped pink (47D) and of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 19mm below corolla with light red filaments and red (46A) anthers. PISTIL extends 32mm (1 1/4") below corolla with white style and cream stigma. FOLIAGE is green (146A) on the upper surface, lighter on the lower surface with 44mm (1 3/4") long x 25mm wide ovate shaped leaves, serrulate edges and acute tips. Veins and branches are red with brownish stems. PARENTAGE: 'Norman Mitchinson' x seedling ('Estelle Marie' x 'Meike Meursing'). Will make a good medium upright, quarter standard, decorative or bedding plant. Prefers overhead filtered light in a cool climate. Best bloom color in filtered light. Easy to grow, short jointed. Tested 4 years in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, England, UK and introduced by Jackson's Nurseries. Distinguishing features: holds blooms and whiteness longer than most whites.

AUDREY DAHMS - No. l957. (Dahms/Collard, 1986). Single. Upright. Non-flaring 15mm (l/2") long x 15mm wide COROLLA is currant red with smooth petal edges. Full down 40mm (l 5/8") long x 6mm (1/4") wide SEPALS are dawn pink with green recurved tips. Proportionately long 25mm (l") long dawn pink TUBE is of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 25mm (1") below corolla with pink filaments and violet anthers. PISTIL extends 10mm (3/8") below corolla with pink style and white stigma. 50mm (2") long elongated BUD. FOLIAGE is light green on the upper surface, grey green on the lower surface with 85mm (3 1/3") long x 50mm wide ovate shaped leaves, serrate edges, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins are yellow, stems light green and branches green with red streaks. PARENTAGE: 'Mrs. Lovell Swisher' x 'Glitters'. Self branching small upright. Will make a good upright, standard, decorative or fan. Prefers full sun and is heat tolerant if shaded and will stand 110ºF without losing its color. Cold weather hardy to 40ºF. Best bloom color in bright light. Will stand wind, resistant to white flies and over watering. Tested 5 years in Kent, England, UK. Distinguishing features: grows upright with early, prolific color fast blooms.

BABY TWO STEP™ - No. 2013. (Schneider, 1986). Single. Upright. Full flared 4mm (1/8") long x 4mm wide COROLLA is red (50A) with smooth petal edges. Horizontally held red SEPALS are 5mm (3/16") long x 1mm (1/16") wide with recurved tips. Proportionately long thick red TUBE is 10-13mm (3/8-1/2") long x 4mm wide. STAMENS do not extend below corolla, white filaments and anthers. PISTIL extends 7mm (1/4") below corolla with white style and stigma. Long oval BUD.

BLOOM VARIATION: Full flared 0.5 mm (1/32") long x 0.5mm wide COROLLA is red with smooth petal edges. Horizontally held red SEPALS are 1mm long x 0.5mm wide with recurved tips. Proportionately short thick red TUBE is 7mm (1/4") long x 1mm (1/16") wide. STAMENS do not extend below corolla, white filaments and anthers. PISTIL does not extend below corolla, pink style and stigma. Oval BUD shape.

FOLIAGE is medium green (138A) on the upper surface, lighter (138B) on the lower surface with 25mm (1") long x 10-13mm wide ovate shaped leaves, wavy edges, obtuse tips and acute bases. Veins are light green, stems green and branches pink. 'Found' seedling of unknown PARENTAGE. Self branching tall upright. Will make a good standard, pillar or decorative. Heat tolerant if shaded. Best bloom color in bright light. Trademarked in California. Easy to grow. Tested 4 years in Oxnard, California, USA and introduced in 1984. Distinguishing feature: 2 different sized blooms on each branch of same color and shape.

BECKY TORRIE - No. 1985. (Laburnum, 1986). Semi-double. Upright. Quarter flared bell shaped 30mm (1 1/8") long x 30mm wide COROLLA opens white maturing to white with pink veins at base with smooth petal edges. Horizontally held 50mm (2") long x 38mm (1 1/2") wide SEPALS are deep pink with recurved tips. Proportionately short deep pink TUBE is of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 20mm (3/4") below corolla with light pink filaments and anthers. PISTIL extends 30mm below corolla with light pink style and stigma. Pear shaped BUD. FOLIAGE is medium green on the upper surface, light green on the lower surface with 60mm (2 3/8") long x 31mm (1 1/4") wide cordate shaped leaves, serrulate edges, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins and stems are light pink with light red branches. PARENTAGE: 'Cropwell Butler' x unknown. Self branching small upright. Will make a good basket, upright or standard. Prefers overhead filtered light in a warm climate and is heat tolerant if shaded. Cold weather hardy to 45ºF. Best bloom color in filtered light. Heavily rooted cutting responds to weak feed. BELINDA ALLEN - No. 1974. (Gadsby/Allen/Saxondale Fuchsias, 1986). Single. Upright. Quarter flared bell shaped 22mm (7/8") long x 15mm (5/8") wide COROLLA opens bluebird violet-blue (94B) maturing to pale roseine purple (68C) with smooth petal edges. Horizontally held 40mm (1 5/8") long x 10mm (3/8") wide SEPALS are carmine with tips recurved. Proportionately long carmine TUBE is of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 25mm (1") below corolla with carmine filaments and anthers. PISTIL extends 25mm below corolla with carmine style and stigma. Ovate BUD with pointed tip. FOLIAGE is dark green with 50mm (2") long x 20mm (3/4") wide lanceolate shaped leaves, serrulate edges, acute tips and bases. Veins, stems and branches are dark red. PARENTAGE: lost. Medium upright. Will make a good upright, standard, pyramid or pillar. Prefers overhead filtered light in a cool climate but is heat tolerant if shaded. Cold weather hardy to 22ºF. Best bloom color in filtered light. Tested 7 years in Birmingham, England, UK. Distinguishing features: self-branching, vigorous and very floriferous; last known seedling of the late Cliff Gadsby.

BELLA MADINA S - No. 1963 (Weeks, 1986). Single. Upright or trailer. Quarter flared 19mm (3/4") long x 19mm wide COROLLA opens rosy cerise orange maturing to mauvish rose orange with turned under petal edges. Half down 48mm (1 7/8") long SEPALS are rose-cerise with yellow recurved tips. Proportionately medium 19mm long TUBE is orange-pink. STAMENS extend 13mm (1/2") below corolla with pink filaments and mauvish-pink anthers. PISTIL extends 25mm (1") below corolla with whitish-pink style and cream stigma. Long pointed BUD is whitish-green to salmon pink. FOLIAGE is yellowish green with 51mm (2") long x 19mm wide leaves, serrulate edges, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins are clear with greenish-mauve stems and branches. PARENTAGE: 'Ting-A-Ling' x 'Orange Crush'. Will make a good basket, upright or standard. Prefers full sun with best bloom color in bright light. Best foliage color in bright light. Grown in shade sepals have white hue, sheds seed pods, easy to grow. Tested 3 years in St. Johns, Woking, Surrey, England, UK. Distinguishing features: short jointed with continuous blooming, young leaves yellowish-gold.

Quarter flared 35mm (l 3/8") long x 28mm (l l/8") wide COROLLA is pale red purple with smooth petal edges. 20mm (3/4") long x l5mm (5/8") wide PETALOIDS are pale red purple with some orange. Horizontally held 40mm (l 5/8") long x l5mm (5/8") wide SEPALS are white blushed rose on the upper surface, rose on the lower surface with tips reflexed. Proportionately long thin 40-50mm (l 5/8-2") long x 7mm (l/4") wide TUBE is white. STAMENS extend 10mm (3/8") below corolla with pink filaments and red anthers. PISTIL extends 25mm (l") below corolla with white style and cream stigma. Long shaped BUD. FOLIAGE is mid-green on the upper surface, lighter on the lower surface with 70mm (2 3/4") long x 45mm (l 3/4") wide ovate shaped leaves, serrate edges, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins and stems are pale green with green branches. PARENTAGE: 'Mrs. Goyaerts' x unknown. Self-branching stiff trailer. Will make a good basket or standard. Prefers a warm climate with best bloom color in filtered light. Certificate of Honor, Dutch Committee of Inspection, Aalsmeer, The Netherlands and introduced in l979. Tested 9 years in Lochem, The Netherlands. Distinguishing features: large blooming semi-double with a very long tube.

BERBANELLA - No. l929. (Bats-Wesseling, l986). Semi-double. Upright. Three-quarter flared 30mm (l l/8") long x 25mm (l") wide COROLLA is pink with smooth petal edges. Pink PETALOIDS are 20mm (3/4") long x 10mm (3/8") wide. Half up 40mm (l 5/8") long x 15mm (5/8") wide SEPALS are pink (55B-55D) on the upper surface, deeper on the lower surface with slightly twisted recurved tips. Proportionately short 12mm (l/2") long x 7mm (l/4") wide pink (55B) TUBE is of proportionately medium thickness. STAMENS extend 10mm (3/8") below corolla with pink (55B) filaments and red (53B) anthers. PISTIL extends 30mm (l l/8") below corolla with pink (55A) style and cream (l9D) stigma. Ovate BUD shape. FOLIAGE is mid-green (l37B) on the upper surface, lighter (l38B) on the lower surface with elliptic shaped 70mm (2 3/4") long x 40mm (l 5/8") wide leaves, serrate edges, rounded tips and bases. Veins are green with some red close to stem, stems are green to red and branches green. PARENTAGE: 'La Campanella' x unknown. Medium upright. Will make a good upright or standard. BERBA'S TRIO - No. l930. (Bats-Wesseling, l986). Single. Trailer. Three quarter flared 30mm (l l/8") long x 40mm (l 5/8") wide COROLLA opens either white (l55A), violet (8lB) or white variegated violet maturing to either white, purple or white variegated purple with smooth petal edges. Fully up 30mm (l l/8") long x 15mm (5/8") wide SEPALS are red (5lA) on the upper surface, crepey red (53D) on the lower surface with tips reflexed. Proportionately short thick 10mm (3/8") long x 7.5mm (l/4") wide TUBE is red. STAMENS extend 15mm (5/8") below corolla with red (54B) filaments and red (54A) anthers. PISTIL extends 35mm (l 3/8") below corolla with pink (62A) style and cream (l57C) stigma. Round BUD shape. FOLIAGE is mid-green (l37B) on the upper surface, slightly lighter (l38B) on the lower surface with 60mm (2 3/8") long x 30mm (l l/8") wide elliptic shaped leaves, entire edges, acute tips and rounded bases. Veins are green with some red close to the stem; stems and branches are green and red. PARENTAGE: 'La Campanella' x 'Bridesmaid'. Stiff trailer. Will make a good basket or standard. Prefers full sun with best bloom color in bright light. Certificate of Honor, Dutch Committee of Inspection, Aalsmeer, The Netherlands. To maintain three corolla colors, cuttings must be taken from branches with variegated blooming. Tested 4 years in Lochem, The Netherlands and introduced in l983. Distinguished by three different corolla colors on same plant.
