How do I access Power School to review my child’s grades?

http://www.jenksps.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/Parents%7CPowerschool%20Parent%20Portal

If you do not have or recall your username and password, call Hannah at Ext. 5533 and she will assist you. If your review of Power School reveals concerns with your student’s progress, we encourage you to speak with your child and then with his or her teacher(s).

When and where do I drop off and pick up my child if they do not ride the bus?

School drop off occurs in the back oval only unless specifically directed by school personnel. There is no school drop off prior to 7:20 a.m. as we do not have anyone to supervise students. School pick up occurs in the back oval only. Students not picked up by 15 minutes after dismissal will be escorted to our After Care Program at a cost to parents of approximately $13 per day.

What do I do if my child is absent or is going to be absent?

Please call Hannah Miller at Ext. 5533 to report a student absent. For medical absences, please provide a doctor’s note upon student return.

Our objective at JEI is that any homework be a quality assignment that is an extension of something begun during the school hours.

The Jenks District Homework Policy for fifth and sixth grade students is as follows:

·  Homework shall be a maximum of 30-45 minutes combined time per night between the student’s core content team teachers. This may vary if a student is enrolled in advanced classes such as Algebra, which is considered a middle school class.

·  Students will have a designated procedure for recording homework assignments in their agendas.

·  Completion of homework is the student’s responsibility; however, students may seek help from family members.

·  Following a school absence, it is the student’s responsibility to complete work upon return. The student will have at least the same number of days to complete work as number of days absent.
