First of all, we can define theprogress as a development towards a better???(life, future?)in themodern condition. Nowadays when we speak of the progress, we are making a reference at the evolution of society, the economiy, our way of thinkingandliving… For example, the new technologies, the medical progress… It can improve peoples lives, but in some cases it can have negative consequences for some people. Is progress vital or should we fear it and abandon it? On the one hand, we can see the possitive aspects of the progress, and on the other hand, the negative consequences.
Part 1: the possitive aspect:
To begin with,the progress it is essential to livesinbest better conditionsofinthe future. It’s is an improvement of our way oflives. Fist, the progress permiteallows a better comunication.
In fact (= en réalité –> ne veut rien dire dans ce contexte), in the cartoon 1 of «Screens everywhere!» represent the moder communication whith computer, cellphones… Nowadays, people can write to each other andhave access to others information from others ) communicate even if they’re far from one fromanother.
The progress is also essentialy forto (for = pour qqun, mais n’exprime pas le but) improve our mode of lifelifestyleespecially on the family life, the transport or again( ne fonctionne pas comme l’expression francaise)orway of work(bof). Today, we can move more easily, thanks to the car, bus…. We win of time! In some job, we can work and the best condition that at the time (je ne comprends pas ce que tu veux dire). We can even take pleasure to working!
In the oral comprehension « Americas Young Inventors», we can seen then rest of the progress of technologie we can invented 2 inventions to makes our lives easier. Firts, a train detective device. It prevent car accidents: drivers are warned thanks to a bell when a train is coming. And secondly, a remote-controlled vacumm. This helps handiccapped people.
« Working from home»: New technologies have allowed many people to work from home, and that isan important evolution in our lives. Ithas many advantages: you don’t have working times, you can organize your life more easily, no traffic jam(e)s…. The same for «telecommuting, it allows to have more time to spendwith the family,a better life quality, talking part in school events. The employees feel less stressed and can be more productive.
The progress has an impact in the future, for exemple in « a baby please!» A genetic test allows to removeof serious diseases such as blindness or mental retardation. Maybe, in the future, we will be able to live ina word without diseases!
Monde sans maladie
