Successful college athletic programs provide huge revenues to the cities and states where the programs are located. Imagine how much revenue is generated on a football Saturday in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where the stadium holds over 100,000 fans. A successful program such as the University of Michigan has a national reputation. Working with a partner, complete the following:

PART 1: Do all parts

Select a college team currently in the TOP 25 (See the list to the side for football)

  1. Use the USA today NCAA financial database to research your school’s financial breakdown. How much money is made through each revenue stream (licensing, tickets, contributions, fees)
  2. Design a flyer containing your team’s football schedule. The flyer should also include the team’s logo and artwork or pictures to excite the fans.
  3. Using the link () find five licensed products for your college. Be sure to include the type of product (hat, socks, grilling accessories, lanyards, etc) and at least one company that produces them (NIKE, Neil Enterprises, GameWear, etc.). Be sure to include a picture of each product!

PART 2:Complete the following tasks:

  1. Create a market segmentation profile of fans for the team selected. Address the elements of market segmentation: demographics, geographics, psychographics, product use, and benefits derived from the product.
  2. Based on this years, schedule, how many nationally televised games do they have (FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC, ESPN networks).

Part 3:Create an Alternative Uniform

  1. Alternate football jerseys are all the rage in the recruiting world of college athletics. Companies like Nike, Under Armour and Adidas are battling for the top schools and paying millions of dollars a year to a school in order to have their logo on their jerseys. Using (or a different uniform generator, create an alternate uniform for your school. Once the uniform is complete, print screen and paste the uniform into your presentation. ALSO INCLUDE AN EXPLANATION OF WHY YOU DESIGNED THE UNIFORM THE WAY YOU DID.
