POUND’S PBS EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF

At Pound our behavioral expectations are taught, modeled, practiced, and reinforced in all locations and situations.

Some of our goals include:

At least 80% of our students can recite expectations and give examples

Positive interactions between adults and students far exceed negative ones

ALL staff and students are participants.

Classroom / Hallway / Restrooms / Playground/Gym / Computer Lab / Media Center / Commons / Cafeteria / Auditorium / Arrival/Dismissal
Be Respectful / *Attend to the teacher/lesson/task
*Follow directions the first time
*Respect other's learning environment / *Use appropriate language
*Be considerate of all classes in session
*Respond to all staff and students in a positive way
*Respect your property and the property of others (i.e. lockers) / *Respect the privacy of others
*Get in and out as quickly as possible
*Keep restrooms clean / *Everyone gets to participate in an activity
*Follow supervisors directions
*Use appropriate language / *Use hand sanitizer every time you enter the lab
*Visit approved websites only
* Never give out personal information / *Allow others to work and learn with out being distracted. / *Know off-limits areas near/in Commons
*Sit on the floor at all times unless you are in line to play ping-pong or are playing ping-pong.
*Keep voice at a reasonable volume / *Use good manners
*Follow cafeteria rules
*Use appropriate voice level and good language / *Arrive early
*Silence visual or audible distractions / *Follow staff directions
*Use appropriate language
*Upon entering the building turn off all electronic devices
Be Responsible / *Be prepared for class
*Enter classroom ready to learn
*Do your best / *Report problems to adults
*Clean up after yourself
*Use passing time wisely to get to class on time / *Report bullying and vandalism
*Flush the toilet
*Clean up after yourself / *Join one of the activities that are offered
*Work things out with an adult's help if you have an issue
*Stop play when the whistle blows that signals the end of recess / *Sit in your assigned seat
*Always use your account on the computer. Remember to log out when you are done.
*Print only what is needed for your work / *Keep our library nice by returning books in good condition and putting materials back where they belong.
*Evaluate information sources carefully and give credit to the creators. / *Welcome students into your group who may be alone
*Follow directions by adults supervising the commons
*Report problems to an adult supervising the commons / *Pick up dropped items off the floor
*Return dishes/trays to window
*Food/drinks remain in lunch room / *Body Basics “Give Me Five”
*Be attentive
*Be gracious to the presenter by clapping at the end / *Students are welcomed onto campus at 7:30
*Students are to leave campus or be at assigned activity by 3:15
*Know your individual morning and afternoon plan
*Students are not allowed in the building until 7:53 when the bell rings
Be Safe / *Use classroom materials appropriately
*Follow emergency procedures

*When the whistle blows, stop play and hold all equipment (footballs, soccer balls, etc.) and carry immediately to a supervisor

*Raise your hand when you need help and wait quietly
*Leave all settings and preferences alone
*Use programs appropriately. All work should be school-related / *Take precautions to use the internet wisely

EXCEPT
When the game is over, both teams either exit to the back of the line or sit down to socialize/read/study / *Walk to where you need to go
*Keep hands and feet to self
*Eat only your own food / *Stay seated
*Wait outside the auditorium until current presenter is finished / *Walk home in a group
*Wait in a school approved supervised area before and after school.
*Use sidewalks, corners, and crosswalks.
*Walk bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc on campus.
