Parker Training Plan- 2012-2013:
Technology training will promote student success by providing professional development on using technology tools in the classroom to support and enhance curriculum goals.
Parker’s focus will be on Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy and inclusion of technology tools in core curriculum instruction.
For sustainability purposes it is imperative that Parker develop a cadre of teachers that can take ownership of the tech tools and software and provide support and training to other teachers and staff. See below.

- Online Training- Webinars, how-to videos (short clips for teachers to view at their convenience.)
- Digital Thursdays- Flip with Balanced Literacy –half teachers at Balanced and half at Digital Thursdays ---then they switch the next week.
- Using IPADs as e-readers, whiteboards, etc—to coincide with Balanced Literacy- I have a list of free lextile readers Using IPADs to interact with my PC – Splashtop and Reflection Apps
- Teacher Webpages—this will be by campus webmaster
- Creating a teacher Hub-(Edmodo or Edublogs) and ways to use it in my classroom- see chart below. (May want for 3-4th grade only?
- Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy with Ipad Apps—see my notes—Suggestion--Only show one for each taxonomy and then let teachers play with it in groups of two on their ipads. Then they need to tell whole group what they liked about it and how they would use it in a core lesson.

- Pre-Semester Training- ½ Day - Rachel- Hardware Refresher. “What do we have and how do we use it.”
- Breakfast with Rachel- Training for the CATTS- each one will become an expert in a specific area as well as receive info from Rachel to be “in-the know” –“cool technology CATTS”. Maybe school or PTO could provide breakfast?—Muffins and fruit for these hard workers?

Required Training by District:
- Online Safety—must be covered first week with all teachers so that they ensure that all students receive the training prior to getting on computers. This is an e-rate requirement.
- Available on Easy Tech- and can be documented online if you use their curriculum.
- Easy Tech and Learning.com.—Go over new required Tech TEKs and show how they can be easily incorporated into Core Curriculum to provide hands on learning for students- Show other RTI options and resources available in Easy Tech.
- How Do I Use the PC to interact with the IPADs. i.e book writing and publishing, splashtop, reflection etc.
- Classroom Management Using Mobile Technology- if necessary
- Bloom’s Digital Technology- Using Apps for RTI, for skill reinforcement, for creating products..i.e. writing and publishing a book..as an eReader.
- Focus on Bloom’s- Curriculum first and find app to do the job secondly.
- Tools the teachers will needto do the following- creating Teacher Hubs—may be for 3-4th grade teachers?
- Web 2.0 tools.-“We have a laptop cart with 12 PCs”—I need some projects that my students can work on using Web 2.0 tools that reinforce core curriculm skills? And will have me in my evaluations.
(Mariana will be giving you a list of Web 2.0 tools based on Bloom’s and teachers needs. Consider individual classes so teachers have time to practice.)
