STUDENT GRANT FOR EXCEPTIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

INFORMATION GUIDE - 2015

Purpose

These student grants are designed to support ParkHillSchool District students who have demonstrated academic ability and perseverance in their continuing educational pursuits. Grants may be granted up to $500. The grants are open to all grade levels. The grants may be used for offsetting tuition/fees at a large variety of special camps or other learning events. Examples would include camps for music, science, fine arts, geography, etc. The grants are not for athletic camps.

General Information

Interested students (or their parent/guardian) must have completed an application to attend the camp or event prior to the awarding of the grant. Grant money will be paid directly to the institution/event sponsor.

Eligibility

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Applicant must be a ParkHillSchool District student.
  2. Applicant must haveAverage or Better grades. If the applicant is a high school student he/she must have a 2.5 GPA or better as indicated on an official Park Hill School District Transcript. Applicant is not required to submit documents verifying grades. Applying for this grant authorizes the Park Hill School District Education Foundation, Inc. to verify grades and attendance records.
  1. By applying for this grant you are authorizing the Foundation will procure grade verification from the school.
  1. Applicant must have a95% cumulative school attendance record.
  1. Applicant must be a good citizen in good standing as defined by Park Hill School District Code of Conduct.
  1. Applicant must provide information thoroughly describing the camp/event/activity. Attach any brochures or other information that will help the committee evaluate the activity.
  1. Applicant must prepare and submit answers to the grant questions provided. Answers must be typed or printed clearly.
  1. Applicant must submit a completed recommendation letter from his/her teacher, principal and/or counselor.For example, if you are applying for a grant to attend a band camp a letter from your band director would be recommended.
  1. Applicant must submitall information by 5:00 p.m., April 13, 2015 to the Education Foundation Office.
