Description / ‘considering the uncertainty of Life ‘
Bequests:
-  to daughter Margarett Nicholls £100 in addition to £100 given on her marriage to be paid within 12 months of testator’s death ‘if she shall happen to die before the expiration of the said twelve Months my will is that her Children shall have it share and share alike’
-  to daughter Grace £50 in addition to £150 given her already to be paid within 12 months of testator’s death
-  to daughter Elisabeth Prockter £5 in addition to what she had on her marriage
-  to daughter Susanna £200 to be paid within 6 months after testator’s death
-  to George Pearse of Newport and Saunders Hornbrook of Tavistock ‘the Dwelling House I now live in with all its appurtenances in Trust for my Son Gabriel during his natural Life’ along with £100 to be paid into the same Trust within one month of testator’s death ‘The Rent of the said House with the Interest of the said One Hundred Pounds after paying Insurance of the said House from Fire to be paid in a Weekly allowance to my said Son Gabriel during his natural Life and after his decease my Will is that the House with all its appurtenances and the One Hundred Pounds shall in case he have any Child or Children by law full Marriage belong to the said Child or Children share and share alike, and in case he dies without, then to my Four Daughters or their Respective Families share and share alike’
-  to wife, ‘free and quiet possession of the aforesaid House with all its appurtenances during her natural Life on condition of her paying or causing to be paid unto the aforesaid Trustees the sum of six shillings and six Pence weekly to be applied as before stated…All the rest, residue, and remainder of my property and effects, Goods and Chattles whatsoever and wheresoever’ ‘it is my Will and desire that all my property after the Death of my Wife be divided among my Children’
