AED 554, Micro-Teaching
  • Coordinatorand facilitator – Planned course schedules and curriculum, coordinated visits to local high schools for micro-teaching experiences, and collaborated with colleagues to facilitate teaching opportunities and learning experiences for graduate students in Agricultural Education. Fall 2013.
This course was designed to give pre-service teachers experience in planning, presenting and evaluating lessons in a micro-teaching lab and in real agricultural education classrooms. It included application of content pedagogy strategies, subject matter principles, multicultural perspectives, and media technology.
AED 313 and AED 510, Early Field Experience and Professional Internship (Student Teaching)
  • Assistant University Supervisor – Supervised pre-service teachersduring Student Teaching and Early Field Experience. Conducted multiple observation visits both accompanied and unaccompanied by other colleagues. Provided guidance and mentoring for student teachers. Winter 2013, 2014, Fall 2013.
These courses were some of the key experiential pieces to the teacher preparation program at Oregon State University. As part of these experiences, regular observation visits were required by university supervisors.
AED 499, Introduction to Agricultural Education
  • Co-Developer and Co-Instructor – Collaborated with another colleague to develop the curriculum for the new undergraduate course. Instructed the undergraduate course through co-teaching methods. Winter 2013.
This course was developed in an effort to recruit and retain prospective teachers of agriculture and to present an overview of the agricultural education profession.
AG 421/521, Leadership Development in Agriculture (Online course)
  • Lead Instructor – Taught the online undergraduate and graduate Writing Intensive Course (WIC) and regularly collaborated withand supervised teaching assistants both online and in-person. Winter 2013, 2014, Spring 2013, 2014, Summer 2103, 2014.
  • Teaching Assistant – Graded student writing and providing feedback through the online site. Collaborated regularly and provided input to lead instructor. Summer 2012.
  • Course Alignment Reviewer and Evaluator – Reviewed and helped align the department’s Writing Intensive Course (WIC) with the university’s Baccalaureate Core. Participated in the university’s Assessment and Accreditation Review of the department’s writing intensive course. 2013.
This course was designed as a required, capstone, senior-level course for all agricultural science majors. It also served as a graduate level course for students across disciplines. Its purpose served to enhance students’ writing skills through various forms of writing in the context of leadership development principles and leadership analysis.
AG 111, Computer Applications in Agriculture
  • Lead Instructor– Developed curriculum and taught computer skills in the context of agriculture to undergraduate students in a computer lab setting. Fall 2012, Winter 2013, Fall 2014 (assigned).
  • Supervising Instructor– Supervised and mentored a graduate teaching assistant. Collaborated regularly to instruct and discuss teaching and learning in an effort to improve her instruction and methods in the course. Fall 2013, Winter 2014.
This course was designed to help students develop practical experience with computer programs applicable to all agricultural disciplines, including agribusiness and agricultural communications.
AG 221, Metals and Welding (Course and Lab)
  • Co-Instructor – Assisted in the management of the course including teaching grading, ordering supplies, and working with teaching assistants managing lab sessions. Spring 2013.
This course was designed for students to develop practical skills in practices of metal working and fabrication including arc and oxy-acetylene welding and cutting. Students ranged in skill level and across a variety of disciplines including perspective teacher candidates and mechanical engineers.

  • Developed curriculum for online agricultural lesson modules for the university’s Extended Campus.
  • Collaborated with graphic artists and computer scientists to design interactive lessons about agriculture.
