Description / Bequests:
-  to John Doidge of Launceston, grocer and William Stacey of Lawhitton, yeoman and their heirs in trust ‘all my real and personal property Money Goods Chattels and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever situate and of what nature and kind’ on condition that they pay all testator’s just debts, funeral expenses and the expenses of proving his last will and testament and apply the residue to the maintenance and support of testator’s wife for the rest of her life and pay her funeral expenses upon her death
On the death of testator’s wife to pay:
-  to Sarah, wife of William Ellicott of Dutson in St Stephen by Launceston, labourer, 20 shillings per annum for 5 years, the first payment to be made 12 months after testator’s wife’s death and the following yearly payments to be made at the end of each succeeding year
-  to Richard Adams of Penryn, labourer, £5
-  to William Stacey of the Hamlet of St Thomas Street, butcher, £5
-  to Bill Adams of North Petherwin, Devon, labourer, 20 shillings
-  to James Short of Luffincott, Devon, labourer, 20 shillings
-  to Maria Short of Lawhitton, spinster, 20 shillings
-  to Eliza Buckingham, wife of William Buckingham of St Stephen by Launceston, labourer, 20 shillings
If there is less than £30 remaining after the death of testator’s wife and after paying her funeral expenses, independent of the dwelling house, garden and orchard ‘which I now occupy’, then testator’s dwelling house, garden and orchard may be sold. If there are still insufficient funds, then each legacy is to be reduced ‘in equal proportions’.
If on the death of his wife there remains a sum greater than £30, Richard Adams of Penryn is to receive £10 instead of £5, and the residue is to go to ‘the sole use and benefit’ of John Scofforn Short of Luffincott, labourer and to his ‘Heirs, Executors Administrators and Assigns’
