Parade Entrant Information

Here is important information to make the day as safe and pleasant as possible:
  • Who may Enter: Anyone! All individuals and groups from any community are welcome! It’s great for clubs, civic organizations, businesses, sports teams, families, antique vehicle enthusiasts – anyone!
  • Theme: Themes are encouraged. This is the entrant’s choice, but we ask it be patriotic in keeping with Independence Day.
  • Safety First!: All entrants must comply with directions from police and event volunteers at all times.
  • Children: Kids are very welcome to be in the parade, but must be chaperoned by a parent or other responsible adult for their safety.
  • Prizes & Judging: Awards of commemorative rosettes and certificates will l be presented (see categories to the right)during the 11:00 a.m. ceremonies on the Town Common. Judging will take place prior to the parade during line-up between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
  • Weather: Rain or shine! Our founding fathers weren’t daunted by weather, and we won’t be either!
  • Arrival Time: 8:00 a.m. Please arrive at the intersection of Epping St. and Route 27 by 8:00 a.m. to allow time to sign in.
  • Sign in: Please sign in when you arrive; you will receive your entry number, instructions as to where to locate yourself within the staging area, and a commemorative ribbon.
  • Entry Numbers: Please display prominently by 8:30 a.m. for judging.
  • Route: see the cover of this brochure; vehicles may be parked in the lot at the intersection of Wight Street & Old Manchester Road before and after the parade.
  • Keep moving, please! Parade entrants must keep moving during the parade; stopping to give out items or to interact with those viewing the parade is not permitted for safety reasons.
  • No items may be sold, but give-away items are very welcome. If throwing candy or novelties to children, please toss it all the way to the kids so they don’t run out onto the road.
  • Horses, llamas and other animals: You are encouraged to leave livestock trailers or a vehicle at the LampreyRiverElementary School or tannery property prior to the parade to provide for your animals when the parade ends. You must also have someone following you during the parade to scoop up any droppings.
  • After the parade: All entrants are requested to come to the Town Common to enjoy the ceremonies, free food and fun, and for the announcement of winners.
