Panhellenic Council Officer Duties
(From the Panhellenic Constitution)
The President shall:
Have overall responsibility for the operation of the Panhellenic Council.
Call and preside at all regular and special meetings of the University of Vermont
Panhellenic Association. Preside at all regular meetings of the Panhellenic Council and
call and preside at its special meetings.
Call and Preside at all meetings of the Panhellenic Executive Board.
Attend monthly GAAC meetings
Alternate with president of IFC to preside on the selection committee for the board of
trustees.
Meet weekly (but separately) with Greek Advisor and Graduate Advisor
Delegate and organize NGLA packets as well as attend the February conference.
Have voice, but not vote in all Panhellenic Council meetings.
Report as a required to the National Panhellenic Conference Area Advisor.
Represent Panhellenic to the Student Association and the University Administration.
Work to implement new ideas for improving the Panhellenic Council and the University of
Vermont Greek
Shall be informed by each Executive Board member concerning the various duties and
functions that they perform.
Shall be a delegate to any committee.
Shall act as Chairperson of the Presidents Standing Committee.
The Vice President for Recruitment
Perform the duties of the President in her absence, inability to serve or at her call.
Direct the Panhellenic Recruitment Program.
Develop or implement new recruitment ideas or formats when necessary.
Work closely with the Chapter Recruitment chairpersons to direct and evaluate recruitment.
Oversee the Rho Gamma Coordinator.
Oversee the Recruitment and Public Relations Committee
Shall act as Chairperson of the Recruitment Standing Committee.
Advise, guide, and assist chapter recruitment chairs throughout recruitment
Organize dates for the following years recruitment.
The Vice President of Internal Programming and Scholarship shall:
Be responsible for coordinating academic programming as part of the University of Vermont
Greek Community.
Sponsor academic and fraternity education workshops, lectures, or programs of general
interest to the University Greek Community at large.
Work closely with scholarship chairpersons of each chapter.
Coordinate a ?Pillar of Excellence? with the Vice President of Scholarship of the
Interfraternity Council
Coordinate Greek Games, Greek Week, and Greek Awards with the Vice President of
Programming and Scholarship of the Interfraternity Council .
Responsible for the presentation of Greek Awards.
The Vice President of External Affairs Shall:
Direct the Rho Gamma Application selection
Organize the Rho Gamma Retreat to be held before the formal recruitment.
Oversee all activities of Rho Gammas.
Direct the Election process for the Panhellenic Association.
Be in charge of appointing both Gamma and Community relations Liaison
The Vice President of Finance shall:
Be responsible for the general supervision of the finances of the University of Vermont
Panhellenic Council.
Be responsible for preparing a semesterly budget with the advice of the President and
Panhellenic Advisor, and provide a copy for each of the University of Vermont Panhellenic
Association member fraternity.
Make each Panhellenic Executive member aware of the budget limitations and work closely
with the Executive council to stay within the budget.
Receive all payments due to the Panhellenic Association; bill each chapter for any dues
applicable, collect dues, and give receipts.
Be responsible for the prompt payment of all bills of the University of Vermont
Panhellenic Association.
Maintain up-to-date financial records, give a financial report at all regular meetings of
the Panhellenic Council and present the books for audit at the close of her term of
office.
Work in conjunction with the Interfraternity Council Treasurer to finance all events.
Coordinate Panhellenic fundraisers when necessary.
The Vice President of Public Relations and Administration shall:
Keep an up-to-date roll of the members of the Panhellenic Council and call it at all
Council meetings.
Take and file full minutes of the University of Vermont Panhellenic Association.
Keep a record of all action taken by the Executive Board and all meetings.
Notify the Panhellenic Council of the time and place of all meetings.
Be responsible for reserving facilities for all Panhellenic Council.
Be responsible for all correspondence of the Panhellenic Council.
Acts as an ex-oficio, non-voting member of all Panhellenic Committees.
Be responsible for advising and informing all members of parliamentary procedure.
Be responsible for all public relations concerning the activities and events sponsor3ed
by the Panhellenic Council.
Shall act as the Chairperson of the Public Relations Standing Committee.
Have a creative eye for all marketing and public relations efforts.
The Vice President of Judicial Affairs:
Be responsible for judicial matters.
Deal with Recruitment infractions.
Serve as co-chairperson with the Chief Justice of the Interfraternity Council on the
Greek Judicial Board.
Be responsible for reviewing and revising the Greek Judicial Provisions with the Chief
Justice of the Interfraternity Council.
Review and revise the Constitution of the University of Vermont Panhellenic Association.
Be in charge of the adopt-a-cop program for the Greek community as well as any other risk
management related
The Vice President of Philanthropy shall:
Be responsible for planning and coordinating philanthropic service projects for the
community and/or the University
Work with the Panhellenic philanthropy chairs on Greek community projects.
Attend all IFC and Executive Board Meetings.
Be responsible for planning Relay for Life for the University community.
Inform chapters of philanthropy and service opportunities on campus as well as in the
community.
Panhellenic Constitution
The President shall:
Be a member of the rising junior or senior class
Have maintained at least a 2.2 cumulative average
Have been initiated member of a sorority for at least one academic year.
Not be a chapter officer
The Vice President of Recruitment shall:
Be a member of the rising junior or senior class
Have maintained at least a 2.2 cumulative average
Have been initiated member of a sorority for at least one academic year.
Not be a chapter officer
The Vice President of Internal Programming and Scholarship shall:
Be a member of the rising junior or senior class
Have maintained at least a 2.2 cumulative average
Have been initiated member of a sorority for at least one academic year.
The Vice President of External Affairs shall:
Be a member of the rising junior or senior class
Have maintained at least a 2.2 cumulative average
Have been initiated member of a sorority for at least one academic year.
Not be a chapter President or Recruitment Chairperson
The VP Finance , VP PR and Administration, VP Philanthropy, and VP Judicial:
Be a member of the rising sophomore, junior or senior class
Have maintained at least a 2.0 cumulative average
Have been initiated member of a sorority for at least one academic year.
