General Rules

1. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, amalgamate or divide classes where necessary to facilitate the running of the show.

2. Correctly secured British Standard skull caps/riding hats that meet current safety Standards PAS 015 MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted.

3. All exhibitors, owners, riders and handlers must hold appropriate liability insurance.

4. Horses and ponies must only be ridden at walk out with the warm-up or designated rings.

5. Stallions or colts must not be led by anyone under the age of 16.

6. No refunds will be given, except at the discretion of the organisers.

7. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Please scoop the poop.

8. The judge’s decision will be final.

9. The age of horses/ponies will be calculated from 1st January in year in which they were foaled. All horses/ponies shown under saddle to be 4 years or over.

10. All under 16 year olds leading mounts in the show ring must wear an approved riding hat.

11. Any objections against the awards of the judges (which on the merits of each exhibit shall be final), or in regard to any matter connected with the Show, must be lodged in writing, with the Secretary, not later than 12 noon the following day. Each protest must be accompanied by a deposit of £25, and if not upheld the sum deposited may, at the discretion of the Committee, be forfeited. All decisions of the Committee shall be final in determining the outcome.

Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

2. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards

3. All non Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third party cover. The Galloway Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non Members and their insurance will not cover you
