2 PROCEDURE 3

1  INTRODUCTION

1.1  PAC MLA members may like to identify membership of any PAC MLA Program and consequent equivalence of accreditations among PAC MLA members and with members of the IAF MLA.

2  PROCEDURE

2.1  Such identification of membership of any MLA Program could be on the accreditation certificates issued to accredited conformity assessment bodies, letterheads and other publicity material.

2.2  Accreditation Bodies may use a statement (either is acceptable, according to the members’ status of IAF MLA / needs) as depicted below along with their logos / marks:

Member of the PAC MLA for … / Member of the IAF & PAC MLA for …

2.3  To indicate membership of a particular MLA Program, ABs that are members of more than one MLA program may choose to make separate statements as above for each program, or to include all the MLA programs in the same statement.

2.4  A PAC MLA Group Member may authorise the bodies it accredits to include reference to the membership in the MLA Group, along with its own mark, as follows:

X Certification Body / ACCREDITED BY Member of IAF & PAC MLA for ….. /
Acc No. S XXXXX

2.5  Instead of the Statement of Membership, the PAC MLA member may also use any mark authorised by IAF / PAC. However, the member will be responsible to prevent any unauthorised or misleading use of such marks by conformity assessment bodies accredited by them.

Note: The use of IAF MLA mark is governed by the policies and procedures of IAF.

2.6  Members may be required to sign an agreement with PAC before use of any “mark” to indicate membership of a MLA program

2.7  The statement of membership of a MLA program and use of any MLA mark shall not be allowed to be used by clients of the conformity assessment bodies to prevent potential market place confusion about who / what is accredited.
