We hope this tool makes it easy toreach out to external contacts.

Dear ______,

I hope this note finds you well.

I serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Year Up [site]. Year Up, an innovative workforce solutions provider, connects employers to diverse, middle-skilled talent by providing underprivilegedyoung adults with technical and professional skills training as well as professional internship with leading employers. Our mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education.

State Street, Facebook, JP Morgan Chase, and American Express [or insert key local companies] are just a few companies that have all worked with Year Up to develop strong, diverse pipelines of talent and have found that good business and good citizenship can be one and the same.

I encourage you to watch this 3-minute segment from 60 Minutes, in which Jamie Dimon and Ken Chenault talk about the value Year Up has brought to their organizations.

I’d love for you to come tour the site and meet some of our amazing students. I know you’ll be impressed and inspired, so we can also talk with staff about potential ways you can get more involved.[Other potential calls to action on the next page].

I have attached some introductory material about Year Up so you can learn a little more about our model and our mission – if you’re interested in learning more, I would be happy to discuss!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
