Feast of Christ the King
“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom does not belong to this world’.” (JOHN 18:36)
How often do we put all our time and energy into building a kingdom here on earth, forgetting that life here is short? The real kingdom is in the next life. Yet, how much time and energy do we invest in working for that eternal kingdom?

A Note from Fr. Damian: From time to time parishioners ask me for opportunities to memorialize their loved ones with items needed for the altar and sanctuary appointments. In truth of fact, many of the objects on or near the altar have been donated or acquired through this generosity in most churches. This ancient practice of making an offering of religious item in memory of a loved one incorporates the desire to prayer for the deceased at all times in the sacred worship of the parish church, to render the memory of their beloved to a holy object to be used for divine service; thus associating the individual as close as possible to action and prayer of the Holy Mass. In doing so Christians seek to perform a work of love and sacrifice on behalf of their loved one while dedicating their name, and one’s affection for them, in the form of vestment, religious vessel or object, or another item to be used exclusively in the prayer and worship of Almighty God. If anyone desires such a memorial please see Fr. Damian for such opportunities. ON LINE GIVING Our thanks to the many families that have signed up for Online Giving! If you manage your bills online, we’re sure you’ll like the convenience of giving to your parish online. It’s safe and secure, and you decide exactly when your gift is made.
