Episcopal Vicars for north London Canon Colin Davies (Burnt Oak parish) & Canon Shaun Lennard (Palmers Green parish) have been appointed by the Cardinal to have pastoral oversight of the parishes of north London. Canon Colin’s deaneries are Barnet, Brent and Harrow. His parish ministry will be supported by an Assistant Priest, Fr Oscar Ardila. We welcome Fr Oscar to Barnet Deanery and to our neighbouring parish.

November – Month of the Holy Souls Please put names of those for whom we will pray on the lists available at the back of the church and place these in a ‘November Dead’ envelope, with offerings, and then hand these to the clergy or put through the letterbox of the presbytery, 5 Garratt Road. May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

Aid to the Church in NeedLast weekend we welcomed David Black who spoke about the work of Aid to the Church in Need. £1,464 was raised.

This will support work among poor Christians and those who suffer persecution for the Faith. Thank you for your generous response to the appeal.

This weekend we welcome local Catenians to the 12noon Mass as we pray for deceased members of this Catholic men’s organization.

Next weekend is the First Sunday of Advent We do not sing or say The Gloria at Mass. Our crib will be put together in stages leading up to Christmas.

Society of St Vincent de Paul There will be a collection to enable their support of poor people locally after Masses on 6/7 December.

ConfirmationRegistration for young people in school Year 9 and above is now open. The programme will begin in January. Young people can

register by meeting with Fr Robert during Clergy Availabilitybringing their Baptism certificate, unless the Baptism took place here at St Anthony’s.

Improvements to our parish church Repairs, cleaning and painting continue. There is now additional lighting. There will be new glass internal doors

atthe back. There might be some inconvenience, so please be patient. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is in the Holy Family Room.

Applications for a place in a Catholic SchoolApplication forms, including the Priest’s reference form, are available from the schools to which applications are being made. This applies to nursery, infant, junior and secondary schools and sixth form colleges.Parent/s who will be requesting a Priest’s reference to support nursery, school & college applications Parent/s needto be practising Catholic/s, known to the Priest giving a reference. The Priest’s Reference Form needs to be brought for completion during Clergy Availability with the rest of the form filled in by parent/s in advance.

Safe Start Elders Club meets in the Parish Centre on Thursdays at 1.30 – 3.30pm. All are welcome.

Christmas Cards & Gifts can be viewed and purchased in the Holy Family Room on Sundays after the 10am and 12noon Masses.

Senior Citizens’ Christmas Lunch, St. Anthony’s Parish Centre Saturday 6 December at 12.30pm with lunch at 1pm. Volunteers are needed in preparation for the day and on the day, also gift-wrapped presents are needed to be given out at the party. All offers, please, to Debbie in the Parish Office. The names of those intending to come to the lunch should be written on the list at the back of the Church, or given to Debbie. Let’s work together to make this a happy and memorable event for our Senior Citizen guests.

Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party, St James’ Catholic Secondary School, Colindale will be on Tuesday 9 December at 4pm. Admission by ticket only, from Debbie in the Parish Office.

25 Card Drive In the Parish Centre, Garratt Road, on Sunday 23 November at 4pm. All are welcome to join in.
