Our Journey June 2017 Newsletter

Dear Friends of Our Journey,

With happy hearts, we will be back in Njoro, Kenya on July 14th. So many great and exciting things have been happening the past 6 months since the doors of our new Our Journey Sunshine Academy’s opened. Our Journey is grateful for the prayers and donations that have been coming forth.

This newsletter is dedicated to the new school, pictures are worth more than words could ever express. We are at the $56,000.00 mark; just $44,000.00 more needed to reach our goal by this December. We are currently leasing the buildings and property for our new school. With your continued prayers and support we reach our goal of $100,000.00 this December. This property is so much more than a new school, it brings the “HOPE”! The community has come together in a way we never dreamed of. It is amazing what a little HOPE can accomplish.

Due to the drought, they have experienced in Kenya the women in the community have come back together and planted the school vegetable garden for the second time. These vegetables help supplement the daily feedings at the school.

We are so thankful for these ladies that work at the school and cook meals every day for the children ... Check out how they cook the meals.

Love seeing the children them enjoying their lunch at school. Their school rooms are so bright and pretty, nothing like the old school...cold, dark damp mud walls.

Parents /Caretakers Day at Our Journey Sunshine Academy checking out their children’s new school. Pastor Anne showing them the school work and talking about the progress their children are making.

Children from the community are invited to all the special holiday feedings, we call these children “the children behind the fence” they don’t attend OJ Sunshine Academy. Pastor Anne is feeding them on the new school grounds. She brings HOPE where there was none.

From Pastor Andy:
As The Little School closes its doors and students and staff move on to new adventures, we are especially proud and grateful for the great parents and students who donated uniforms to benefit the sweet smiles at Our Journey, Inc.'s Sunshine Junior Academy in Njoro-Nakuru, Kenya.
Currently, OJI is working to fund the purchase of property that the school occupies, insuring a permanent future for educating impoverished students who would not otherwise be able to learn, or have a meal.
OJI gratefully accepts donations online through their web site (www.ourjourneyinc.org), and they always covet your prayers.

Packed and on their way to Kenya.

From Maureen: Makes my heart melt...thank you “The Little School”. We will take pictures of the children at OJ Sunshine Jr Academy wearing your old school uniforms. Children helping children.

Please share this newsletter with your friends and help this dream become a reality in December.

Love & Blessings,

Maureen & Pastor Andy
