HOW TO ENTER

The Show is divided into 5 Sections (Vegetables - 15 classes, Fruit - 6 classes, Flowers& Plants, - 7 classes Flower Arranging - 2 classes, Home Produce -10 classes, a total of 40 classes which are competitive, and 3 Autumn Show 'Extra' which are just for fun.

All entries are FREE, but you may only enter one entry per class, as space in the Village Hall is limited.

Young Gardeners (under 16's) are welcome to enter any class (apart from HP8 and HP9)

  • Please display all vegetables (except VG15) and fruit (except FR6) on white paper plates.
  • The introduction of 7 mixed size tomatoes (VG9) and 'small' rather than 'cherry' tomatoes (VG7) is to allow for varieties such as plum and ox heart tomatoes.
  • VG11 Potatoes can be all the same or different varieties, to allow for irregular-shaped potatoes such as Pink Fir Apple
  • A different vegetable (VG14) may be an unusual vegetable, or simply one not in any of the previous classes (VG 1- 13)
  • Vases will be provided for FLR 1- 4
  • The pot for FLR7 (outdoor plant/s in a pot) must be easily transportable
  • Jams may be presented in jarswith screw top lids, or sealed with wax circles and covered with cellophane. Jars may be of any size.
  • Entries of liqueurs will be accepted from 2015 to 2017
  • Items for the Picnic Basket should be made using as many seasonal fruits and vegetables as possible in (for example) soups, bread, salads, fruit pies, cordials. We will be looking for originality, balance of menu and presentation as well as taste.

On the morning of the Show, please bring your Exhibits to the Village Hall (which will be open from 8.30 am to 10.45 am). You will be met by a Show Steward, who will give you your Exhibitor's Number, and direct you to where you will stage your exhibit (s).

The Hall will close shortly before judging take placesat 11 am. The Show will then be open to the public from 2 pm.

1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded.

Tables can be cleared from 4.30 pm. The Raffle will be drawn at 4.30 pm as well and the Show will close at 5 pm.
