Dream Chasers

We all have dreams. Some of us talk about the life that we wish to live, the careers we want, the income we desire, and even the places we wish to visit. Others live the dream. Dream chasers go out on a limb to make their dreams a reality. It is a lonely, scary road, one often filled with uncertainty and anticipation. However, they never let these challenges stop them! They live their dreams every day, one day at a time.

The Reality vs. The Dream

  • Are you a dreamer?
  • Are you willing to make your dreams into reality?
  • Can you take a dream and map out a path to make that dream a reality?
  • What does it cost you to live in the shadow of your dreams?
  • Make a list of the dreams you had that have not yet been fulfilled and then

write an explanation next to each as to why they are currently unfilled and

how you plan to make them a reality.

  • Write a short story of a dream you had and what you did to successfully fulfill it.
  • Now use a similar strategy to turn your most unfulfilled dreams into a reality!

Feature Persons: The Dream Chasers

  • Lincoln Blackwood and his brother-in-law Adrian Williams decided to start a custom brokerage business. Blackwood, a successful custom broker with a large firm, walked away from a well paying job while Williams, a recent MBA graduate, was ready to take on the world. That was 5 years ago. Today, they have weathered many storms and they have a dynamic and evolving business in Southern Florida.
  • Dr. Don Zarlengo had an interesting dream. For years, he spoke about living the island life, basking in the sunshine, enjoying a slower pace of life. Many of us can relate to his dream! The successful college dean moved from the classroom to the fast paced world of computer technology and finally settled into a beautiful cottage in Costa Rica.
  • Rev. Sophia Azan, a successful businesswoman, lost the love of her life – her husband Emile, seven years ago. For a while, Sophia mourned and turned inward, putting her energy into her church. Today, she is an ordained minister who enjoys every moment of her life by giving back to her church and to her community.
  • William (Bill) Little is a soft-spoken man of humble beginnings. Bill had a dream of becoming a successful businessman. He followed the rules, by crossing all the ‘t’s and dotting all the ‘i’s. He was persistent about his goals. In September 2003, Bill hit it big! He won a large government subcontract of $50M.

What do all these people have in common?

They had a dream, made the decision to chase that dream and turn it into a reality.

It is said that Hollywood is what dreams are made of!

During this holiday season, take your dreams and make them a reality.
