Organizational and title changes since the 2000 accreditation:
- The Budget Office merged with Office of Institutional Research and is now the Office of Planning, Budgeting and Analysis under the Vice President for Administration and Finance. (Institutional Research previously reported directly to the President)
- The Montana Island Lodge was formerly the Center at Salmon Lake
- Public Safety was formerly Campus Security
- The Adams Center reports to the Vice President for Administration and Finance
- The Graduate School and International Programs are now headed by associate provosts who report to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (previously under Vice President for Research and Development)
- Information Technology was formerly Computing and Information Services and is now headed by the Chief Information Officer and reports directly to the President (previously under Vice President for Research and Development)
- The College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences was formerly the School of Pharmacy and its former departments are now the Skaggs School of Pharmacy, and the Schools of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science, Social Work, and Public and Community Health Science
- The College of Forestry and Conservation was formerly the School of Forestry
- The College of Visual and Performing Arts was formerly the School of Fine Arts
- The College of Education and Human Sciences was formerly the School of Education
- The Center for Ethics was formerly the Practical Ethics Center
