The following job vacancies are available inthe Tax Assessors Office, EMS Department, and Planning Department. Qualified and eligible individuals interested in applying for this position may submit an application to Human Resources no later than March 21, 2014.

Position: Appraisal I/Mapper

Department:Tax Assessors

Grade: 12

Hourly Rate:$11.85

This position performs clerical and technical work in the appraisal of real and/or personal property for tax assessment purposes, through the mass appraisal process, and performs other duties, as defined by Georgia Law, state regulations, and county policies and procedures, including data entry, field and cartography duties.

Minimum Job Requirements: high school graduate or equivalent, with some training in typing and computer word processing; minimum of one year in general office experience is required; Appraiser I designation to be obtained within one year of employment, or at age 21, whichever occurs later; must maintain Appraiser Designation Certification through successful completion of at least forty (40) hours of required continuing education courses during each two (2) years tenure as support staff appraiser; and a valid driver’s license.

Position:Paramedic

Department:EMS

Grade:12

Hourly Rate:$11.85

The Paramedic is responsible for providing professional Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support pre-hospital emergency medical care to sick and injured patients of various ages, and to provide safe transportation to the appropriate medical facility. Patients will includenewborn, infants, children, adults and geriatrics. He /She is responsible for assuring the ambulance he /she is assigned is clean, stocked and mechanically functioning by utilizing the daily check list. He/ She will function as a team member with his / her partner and other associates and will strive to maintain the EMS and County Mission. The Paramedic will respect the patient’s rights at all times and maintain confidentiality. He / She will function as a team member by working with all departments. The Paramedic will complete assigned duties in a timely and cheerful manner.

Minimum Job Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; paramedic diploma, current paramedic certification; CPR certification, a valid driver’s license; and American Heart Association ACLS Certification.

Position:Building Inspector

Department:Planning

Grade:16

Hourly Rate:$14.39

This position is responsible for performing all County and City inspections and enforcement in connection with codes and ordinances such as: National Electric Code, Standard Building Code, Standard Plumbing Code, Standard Mechanical Code, Standard Gas Code, Standard Housing Code, Standard Fire Prevention Code, State Entergy Code, Swimming Pool Code, State Industrialized Building, State Manufactured Housing Setup, and ordinances as may now or in the future be adopted.

Minimum Job Requirements: high school graduate or equivalent; vocational/technical training in building code enforcement or residential and commercial inspections is preferred; three (3) years experience in residential and/or commercial construction or inspections is preferred; if not already certified, minimum certification (CABO) must be obtained within a two year period from date of employment.
