Volume III. Annex 3.

Professional practice regulation

  1. The regulation must be applied in the case of bachelor and master students starting from September 2012 and in the case of higher level vocational training students starting from September 2013 for the accomplishment of continuous professional practice. For those who started their studies earlier the norms of NHEA 2005. must be applied.

[1]Professional practice: Professional practice is a training activity determined jointly by the higher education institution and the professional practice location, which is planned, organised and evaluated according to the training and outcome requirements of the higher level vocational training programme and the curriculum of the training.

[2]Professional practice location: legal entity, or economic entity according to the code of civil procedure act, which provides the continuous professional practice in higher level vocational training, undergraduate training or graduate training according to the student contract of employment on the basis of the NHEA 44. § (1) section a) point made by the higher education institution with the student, or on the basis of the agreement of NHEA. 44.§ (3a) section.
  4. [3]In-site practice place: the organisational unit of the higher education institution suitable for continuous professional practice.
  5. According to the Act CCIV. of 2011 on Higher Education 44. §, and the 230/2012 (VIII.28.) 14-16. § the higher education institution and the professional practice location may sign a cooperation agreement to ensure the professional practice of students of the higher education institution.
  6. [4]The agreement indicated in section 4. must be signed if the training and outcome requirements of the major, higher level vocational training determine a six-week long or longer professional practice.
  7. The aims of the professional practice are to join the theoretical and practical knowledge at a workplace, employment suitable for the professional skills, to develop employee competences necessary for the practice of the profession in workflows, to develop material-tool-technological knowledge and practical skills, and personal connections and cooperation in workflows, evaluating and self-evaluating behaviour, innovation skills during task management.

[5]The student may work on the basis of a student contract of employment during the dual training at an off-site location[6] within the framework of the training programme, or during the professional practice organised as part of the training or during the practical training in the institution, at an economic entity established by the institution or at an off-site practice location, or not directly connected to the training programme in the higher education institution or at an economic entity established by the higher education institution.

  10. In higher level vocational training at least one semester of professional practice must be organised at a practice location. The professional practice is a continuous practice, which may be organised in several parts only if the training and outcome requirements of the higher level vocational training stipulate in this way. The length of the professional practice is a term corresponding to a training period, but at least 14 weeks, in which the practice is divided into weeks with five workdays. In the case of part-time training or distance education the professional practice is at least 240 lessons, during which at least a three-week continuous practice must be organised. Earlier work experience may be recognised as completion of study requirement according to the provisions of the study and exam regulation of the higher education (KU OOR volume III. 48.§ [8]).
  11. The student is entitled to the tools necessary for the work, working and protective clothing, occupational safety equipment provided for those employed in a job which may be filled with higher educational qualification at the professional practice location.
  12. Those who organise the practical training are obliged to effect liability insurance for the student taking part in higher level vocational training. (NHEA. 44. § (4))
  13. In case of part-time training partial exemption from professional practice or/and the extent of the inclusion of work experience are decided jointly by the programme supervisor and the student’s advisor, which is recorded in writing.

[9]The time schedule of the students’ professional practice during the term and out of the term is determined basically by the time schedule of the academic year approved by the faculty councils annually/the teacher responsible for the course/sample curriculum/the order of professional practice of the given major. Divergence from this time schedule may happen first of all in the case of part-time students on individual request. An effort must be taken that the student may accomplish the professional practice during the term.

[10]The experts participating as professional training instructors, the representatives of practice locations continuously assess and evaluate the students’ achievements with regard to the nature of the majors on the basis of the recommended criteria set (and certify the professional practice period officially downloaded by the student from annex 2. of the cooperation agreement):

[11]The Educational Authority keeps a record of the professional practice locations participating in the training – except for training in the field of teacher training - on the basis of a cooperation agreement signed for at least a year by the university and the professional practice location and of the in-site practice locations on the basis of the obligation of the institution to supply records according to majors. The registration of new practice locations, the cancellation of extinct practice locations and the changes concerning registered practice locations shall be initiated at the Educational Authority at least once in a semester. The notification is done by the Vice-Rector responsible for Strategic and Educational Development on the basis of the data supply of the faculties.
  2. The student who is under the obligation to do professional practice may work on the basis of a student contract of employment with the practice place. By the employee the student is meant, by the employer the party providing the professional practice is meant, by the employment the employment is meant which is established on the basis of the student contract of employment. During the employment of the student:

- work during the night or overtime work may not be ordered,

- the daily working time of the student may not exceed eight hours a day, in the case of the application of weekly allocated cumulative working hours at most one week allocated cumulative working hours may be ordered,

- at least a twelve-hour long relaxation time must be provided for the student a day,

- no probationary period may be stipulated,

- [12]the 105. § (2) and 106. § (3) sections of the labour code may not be applied.

[13]In the case of dual training the student contract of employment is valid for the entire period of training, which must be contracted until 30. September, in the case of study programmes strating in the spring semester it must be contracted until 28. February.

  2. [15]The detailed rules of the organisation, accomplishment of the professional practice are included in the annexes of the faculties of the present regulation (Guide and Order of the documentation of students’ practical training).
  3. The present regulation was adopted by the 125/2014 (VI.26.) decision of the Senate of Kaposvár University on 26. June, 2014. as Annex 3. to Volume III. of the Student Requirements of the Organisational and Opeartional Regulations of Kaposvár University and put in force on 26. June, 2014.

Clause:

The Student Requirements as part of Volume III. of the Organisational and Operational Regulations of Kaposvár University submitted by the Educational Vice-Rector were debated by the session of the Senate of Kaposvár University on 18. December, 2015. and adopted by the 90/2015 (XII.18.) resolution. The Regulations are effective from 18. January, 2016. With the entry into force of the regulation Volume III. of the Organisational an Operational Regulations accepted – as amended from time to time - by the 2/2015 (II.02.) resolution of the Senate of Kaposvár University on 2. February, 2015. expires, but the present annex 3. to it „Professional practice regulation” shall remain in full force and effect.

Closing provisions

(1) The modifications of the present regulation were debated by the session of the Senate of Kaposvár University on 24. March, 2016. and approved by the 9/2016. (III. 24.) resolution. The amendments are effective from the date indicated in the footnote.

(2) The modifications of the present regulation were debated by the session of the Senate of Kaposvár University on 29. June, 2017. and adopted by the 39/2017. (VI. 29.) resolution. The modifications are in force from the date indicated in the footnote.
