Orbita Product Release Notes for June 5th, 2017

Orbita is pleased to announce many important new features, fixes, and other improvements to Orbita Voice and Engage software platforms. This post summarizes what is new and changed in the latest versions of these platforms.

Orbita VoiceV3.0.2: Fixes and Enhancements

New Calendar Skill Control

Orbita Voice now includes a new template voice skill for managing calendars and events. Calendar object creation and management is available in the Orbita Admin Console under the Authoring menu item.

Also included with this feature is a new Calendar Manager Node in the Orbita Experience Designer that allows voice skills to create and query user calendars managed in the Orbita Admin Console.

Dynamic Data Manager Node

A new general purpose node has been introduced to the Orbita Experience Designer for creating, updating, deleting, and querying a structured collection of data items using the NodeDB syntax. This is an enterprise grade service, with built in paging capabilities for extreme scalability and performance. This node is useful for logging, tracking state across voice sessions, storing and retrieving arbitrary data items.

User Manager Node

New to the Orbita Experience Designer is a node for creating, updating, deleting, and querying Orbita user account objects. Like the Dynamic Data Manger Node, the User Manager Node has built-in paging for scale and performance. Use this node to access and manage user objects, personalize voice experiences, implement access control, and more.

One Time Passphrase (OTP)Manager Node

The Orbita Experience Designer includes a new voice node to generate a passphrase that can be sent to the user via email or SMS. This is useful for voice skills that require user authentication.

Additional User Persona Schema Property Available for Time zone

User Persona Schemas can now include a Time zone. Users created using this Persona Schema have the ability tospecify their local time zone.

Taxonomy Tree

The Menu Builder feature in the Orbita Admin Console has been replaced by the Taxonomy Tree editor and moved to the Authoring menu option.

Voice Simulator to SSML Editor

All voice “say” editors in the Orbita Admin Console now support a voice simulator playback feature. This allows you to hear what the“Say Text” will sound like without having to launch and interact with the entire voice skill. To try out the simulator, edit a Content Item under Authoring/Content Items/Rich Text and hit the play button.

Context Documentation in Nodes

Many nodes (but not all, yet) in the Orbita Experience Designer now include contextual documentation. To access the documentation, open up the right preview pane, select the Info tab, and then select the node.

API for Alexa Card

A new API end pointhas been added to GET recent Alexa activities.

Added Platform Version to left hand menu.

You can now find the current version number at the bottom of the navigation menu.

Added support for NoneIntent when we could not match to any intent.

The NoneIntent Node invokes when an Intent is called that is not valid for the current state. For example, if a flow allows a user to say “Yes” or “No”, but instead they say “Help” and the Help Intent is not allowed in the current state, the NoneIntent will fire.

New Speech Synthesis Tag Support

New SSMLtags now supported by Amazon Alexa have been added to the Say text editors in the Orbita Admin Console. This includes tags for speech emphasis, prosody, sub and new amazon:effect whisper tag.

Fixed: Blood pressure data from Withings devices

Blood pressure data from Withings devices can now be captured.

TwilioNode

A new node for interfacing with the Twilio telephony service has been added to the Orbita Experience Designer. This allows for the creation of voice skills that initiate phone calls and trigger SMS messages.

New playback control in SSML editor

The speech synthesis playback control in the Say text editors in the Orbita Admin Console now supports pause/stop and restart.

API integration for body temperature from Withings device

The Orbita API now supports body temperature readings from Withings devices.

API integration for sleep duration from Withings device

The Orbita API now supports body temperature readings from Withings devices.

The Orbita API now supports accessing step data from Withings devices.

Any State

From within Experience Designer, the Intent Node allows you to specify “Any State” from the State pull down menu. This allows you to indicate that the intent should invoke regardless of the

PIN Security

A new feature for user management allows administrators to assign a personal identification number (PIN) with variable expiration times to Orbita users.

Display Organization logo on the Login screen

The Engage login screen now shows the Organization logo if configured in the Settings through the Orbita Admin Console.
