Your Biography/Autobiography Book Report will be due May 8, 2017. You will give a speech on that day or the days following, depending on when your name is randomly drawn. Please read the attached rubric thoroughly so that you will know how your grade is being awarded.

You will need to choose a biography or autobiography and have it approved by me personally. I want to see the physical copy of this book. I will allow no athletes, actors, comedians, singers, etc., as we have discussed in class. Very few exceptions will be made.

Your speech needs to last between 3 and 5 minutes in length. You should certainly practice at home to make sure you can achieve this. If you would like, you can record your speech at home and play the video for the class. The speech should address the following topics:

  • Date and place of birth (and death, if applicable)
  • Early life and family
  • Education and rise to success
  • Greatest accomplishments/most important events
  • Overview of significance

You should turn in a copy of your speech, typed in a color visible to the average human. If there is a last minute printer error (which there shouldn’t be, because you shouldn’t wait until the last minute), you may email me the speech at . The subject of your email should be your person’s name.
