Investment Management - Full Time Generalist Analyst Program

Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division provides investment planning, financial advisory and asset management services to institutions and high net worth individuals. We offer a broad range of investment vehicles such as separately managed accounts, mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity. The Investment Management Division is the fastest growing business within the Firm.

The two year generalist program begins with an orientation to the Firm and classroom training. The training program includes a comprehensive capital markets course that covers a variety of topics, including stock and bond analysis as well as an overview of all the major capital markets instruments and businesses. Analysts gain exposure to many aspects of the Firm through a series of business presentations, lectures and interactive projects. In addition, Analysts will receive training for the Series 7 and Series 63 licensing exams.

At the completion of the training program, Investment Management Analysts will have the opportunity to rotate through jobs in our different functional areas such as: Investments & Research, Client Development & Marketing, and New Product Development & Strategy. Placement decisions are made by the business heads at the end of the rotation process and are based on the overall business needs and Analyst preferences.

Investments & Research

u  Assist in development of performance analytics to support institutional money management and alternative investment team

u  Participate in analysis of outside money manager selections

u  Develop and maintain asset allocation models

u  Work with fixed income or equity analysts across industry groups

u  Perform in-depth company and macro industry/sector analysis

u  Develop and publish research reports

Client Development & Marketing

u  Develop marketing plans and strategies to increase new sales opportunities and client retention

u  Work with sales force on new business strategies; Advise clients and sales force on specialized product opportunities

u  Collaborate with business groups to create and execute marketing communication programs and branding initiatives

New Product Development & Strategy

u  Support Executive Management and partner with multiple internal groups - Investment Research, Marketing, Operations, Legal and Sales – to incubate and execute new products, strategic investments and processes for the division

u  Tasks vary from developing new investment vehicles and business lines to analyzing potential acquisitions for the division
