Operational framework of the Implementation and Capacity development Committee (IC) and the role of RPPOs

[1]The Capacity Development Committee (CDC) met in Japan on 15-19 May 2017[1] and considered the Terms of Reference (ToRs) and Rules of Procedure (RoP) of the Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC)[2] as well as the joint call for topics.

[2]The ToRs and Rules of Procedure of the IC were reviewed and are presented in document 26_TC-RPPO_2017_Nov.

[3]The IC will meet for the first time on 11-15 December 2017, at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Headquarters, in Rome Italy. The draft agenda of the upcoming meeting is provided as document 27_TC-RPPO_2017_Nov.

[5]The IC will be meeting to set its operational framework, discuss on Implementation and Capacity Development Strategies and determine IC Work Plan.

[6]The IC will be meeting bi-annually. The first meeting isheld in May hosted by a contracting party, and the second is held in December at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Headquarters, in Rome Italy.

[7]On the basis of these 2 documents, the TC-RPPO is invited to:

-Suggest a mechanism to liaise and share information with the IC members in their region

-Agree on the RPPO representation principles atIC meetings, particularly for the out of Rome sessions

-Consider how the RPPOs and TC-RPPO could contribute to implementation actions through the IC based on the operational framework envisioned.
