Operation Wild Season Two

Character Descriptions

Meet the Officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission

CLINTON BEAN

Nickname: “Bean”

Beat: TaylorCounty

The cowboy hat donned by Officer Bean is standard issue for all officers, but few besides him actually wear it. He is a self-described cowboy - who loves to hunt and fish - so when he busts people for failing to adhere to wildlife laws, he takes it personally. His good looks, thick southern accent and easygoing personality make him a favorite of both fellow officers and the public alike – especially the ladies!

DANA KLEIN

Nickname: “Copper Mom”

Beat: St. JohnsCounty

Officer Dana Klein has split identities: sweet all-American soccer mom, and hard-hitting law enforcer. When wearing her FWC uniform, this feisty mom of two is an expert at spotting bad behavior.

JIMMY JOHNSON

Nickname: “The Case Maker”

Beat: Florida Keys

Hailing from MiamiFlorida, Officer Jimmy Johnson has been on the waters around Key West for 23 years. As a FWC officer by day and fishing charter boat captain on the weekend, Officer Johnson simply loves life on the water. The self-proclaimed “Case Maker” is well known by local residents for his dedication to protecting the sea life and residents of the Florida Keys.

RACQUEL DANIELS

Nickname: “Rocky D”

Beat: Florida Keys

Officer Daniels left her desk job two years ago to join the FWC, and never looked back. She proudly boasts the honor of being the first black female officer in patrol history. Previously, this Miami native had only been chauffeured around on the occasional fishing trip, but now she captains her own boat. Officer Daniels has become one of the FWC’s most promising up-and-coming officers with her no-nonsense attitude always in tow.

ERIK STEINMETZ

Nickname: “The Magnet”

Beat: Florida Keys

This 21-year veteran of the force was born and raised in the very area he now patrols, so protecting precious Florida resources is literally in his blood. He drives his boat through the dangerous shallows and coves like most people drive cars through their own neighborhood. This funnyman is known for his joke telling talents and knack for seeking out dangerous arrests.

TYLER HARRISON

Nickname: “T-Bone”

Beat: BrowardCounty

After years of patrolling the frigid New England coast, Officer Harrison moved back to his home state of Florida to warm up and join the FWC force. “T-Bone,” his nickname from the Coast Guard, is an avid hunter and fisherman who bares the challenging responsibility of patrolling land, sea, and the everglades. A newlywed, no matter where he is, Tyler always takes the time to call his wife to let her know he’s ok.

JANETTE FERNANDEZ

Nickname: “The Translator”

Beat: Florida Keys

It took less than two years on the force to give Janette Fernandez a reputation as one of the most fearless officers on the Florida Keys Patrol. While all patrolmen carry a gun, Officer Fernandez has one weapon that most of her peers do not… the ability to speak Spanish. Since the majority of South Florida’s population is Spanish speaking, this invaluable tool makes her a key asset to reprimanding unlawful wildlife offenders.

THOMAS VAN TREES

Nickname: “Timber”

Beat: CollierCounty

Thomas Van Trees is the FWC’s “fresh meat” – only on the job for a mere four months. He is known amongst his patrol for his “nice-guy” demeanor, but don’t be fooled; Officer Van Trees is a former rugby coach, likes to collect guns, and loves the adrenaline rush that being an FWC officer provides.
