Operation - Quick Start: 3000/5000 Series Client

Configuring your MF DIGITAL Standalone

• Connect the system to your network using the

RJ-45 connector on the back of the system.

• Turn on the system

• Wait for the system to boot up, you will see:

select copy or compare

• Press the “7” key, you will see:

CLEAR HD?

• Press the “Stop / No” key to scroll through the

options until you reach:

CHANGE NETWORK SETTINGS?

• Press the “Start / Yes” key, you will see:

ENTER NAME:MF
CURRENT NAME:

• You must leave MF at the front of the name. You

should name it MF100 for example:

ENTER NAME:MF100
CURRENT NAME:

• Press the “Start / Yes” key, you will see:

DHCP ENABLED?
[STOP]=NO [START]=YES

• Press the “Stop / No” key if the network does not

use DHCP or press the “Start / Yes” key if it does

use DHCP. If you press the “Start / Yes” you will

be prompted to restart the system, if you press the

“Stop / No” key you will see:

ENTER:
FIRST NUMBER OF IP

• Enter the 4 sets of numbers of the IP address one

set at a time. After each octet press the “Start /

Yes” key. Do not enter an IP address of a

machine that is already on the network. When

you have entered in the entire IP address you will see:

ENTER:
FIRST NUMBER OF SUBNET

• Enter the 4 sets of numbers for the subnet. Pressing

start / Yes” after each set.

PLEASE RESTART THE SYSTEM
PRESS [START]

• Press the “Start / Yes” key and then restart the

system by tuning it off and back on again.

Configuring the Client

• Place the firmware CD into the CD-ROM drive of

your PC.

• Double click on “Embedded” folder

• Double click SaClient.exe

• Press “Connect” in the lower right hand corner.

• Enter the name of the 3000/5000 Series on the network.

• Press “OK”

• A new tab will appear at the top of the screen called

“MF100”

• Click the “MF100” tab and you will see:

• Click “Get image” to pull an image from the System.

Give the image a name and location. The image will be

saved with a .img file extension.

• Click “Send image” to send an image to the System. The

image may be a .img, .iso, .udf, or .isc.

• To burn from the client, click “Start job” to select an

image to burn to the System, Select “copy”, “verify”, or

“test” and click “OK”.

• To take advantage of the Command Module Client Software, CMCS, multiple MF Digital units have to be connected and set up on the same LAN.

• Once the MF Digital units are connected to the CMCS new tabs will appear on the client software, MF### one tab for each unit. For instructions on making the connection please see “Client Software for Single Unit”.

• It takes just a single click of the mouse to send a job to multiple MF Digital units.

Go to Status tab and then press the Start new job button a window will appear with all connected units to the CMCS.

• As seen in the dialogue box above, the user can add or remove duplicators under the Command Module interface. This dialogue box also gives the user parameters for the job such as quantity, copy, verify, print, browse for image file and browse for label file. Once a job is sent to MF Digital units, each unit displays amount of copies to be still made on the unit by displaying Balance: # message.
