Artist / DescriptionFor Singapore by Jenny Holzer / This iconic American artist who has gained international renown for her all-text works, LCD displays, projections and public projects, will be presenting a large scale outdoor projection of texts onto the façade of City Hall building.
Open Burble by Usman Haque / A 60m-high balloon sculpture that has motion sensors within each cluster of balloons creates an interactive and colourful public artwork which invites the audience to be involved with the change of colours through the column.
This is anchored to the ground by jerry cans, and will have tethers for the audience to pull and effect colour changes in the balloon structure.
Mocmoc and Mermer / The lovable pair of mascots come together to celebrate the uniqueness of being Singaporean and Swiss, and teach the audience the Mocmoc and Mermer dance!
Pratchaya Phinthong (with Pattara Chanruechachai) / An electric golf buggy which is outfitted with a projector system will drive on the Padang to project experimental films onto surfaces created by the infrastructure of the SB2006 Opening Party.
This vehicle will have a prescribed route to travel along, and precautions will be taken to ensure a clear path in front of the vehicle.
Tommy Angel #16 by Jonathan Allen / This UK artist, who is a fully trained illusionist, will amaze and astound unsuspecting audiences as he plants fake bank-notes with the image of his alter-ego Tommy Angel into their pockets, as part of a surreptitious ‘put-pocket’ performance.
Fashion Show by Yayoi Kusama / Kusama’s iconic polka dots are presented in collaboration with three fashion design schools – LASALLE-SIACollege of the Arts, Raffles Design Institute and Temasek Polytechnic.
These fashion students will re-interpret and re-create Kusama’s motif and showcase them in a 20-minute fashion show.
Daniel Malone / The New Zealander artist will spin music for the Kusama fashion show, as well as a 45-minute set after.
