SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR 2005

CLUB CLEANUP/ OPENING DAY – Saturday, April 2, at 9:00 AM at the club. Bring your tools and work gloves. Hot dogs will be served at lunch.

RACE/SAILING WEEKEND - To be held the fourth weekend of each month. We plan to have a sailing related/social event on Saturday and formal racing on Sunday. Details of the April 23-24 weekend will be published in the next Luffin’ News. Bruce MacDonald has some interesting ideas for the coming season. Does a Luau sound good? How about a Sail to Dale’s? More to come.

JULY 4 – Come Saturday July 2, at 5:00 PM for hot dogs, ice cream and fireworks.

REGATTAS – We will host the Isotopes August 27-28 and the Lightnings September 24-25.

INDIAN SUMMER – October 8 and 9. We still need volunteers. Please contact Mike Cooper if you would like to help with social, race or other activity.

MEMBERSHIP/DUES

We wish a hearty welcome back to renewing member Jim Dodd of Myrtle Beach.

You should have received your membership renewal notice. Dues remain at $250.00 this year. A brief questionnaire is included with your renewal. Please take a moment to complete and return it with your dues.

FAREWELL

Kyle Brown passed away in February. He was a long time club member, served on the board and helped out in many ways. He was a good friend and sailing companion. He is missed.

OTHER NEWS

The Oyster Roast was held on Saturday, February 26, 6:00 PM at Dale’s Restaurant. It was great to see so many familiar faces and to catch up on one another’s winter activities.

FEBRUARY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors

February 26, 2005, 1547 Waccamaw Shores, Lake Waccamaw, NC

Directors Present: Mike Cooper, Gaines Grantham, Paul Jueschke, Mike Butts, Gil Vick, Valerie Georgevitch

Directors Absent: Bruce MacDonald

A quorum being present, Chairman Mike Cooper called the meeting to order at 4:08 PM.

MINUTES – Continued

Georgevitch took the floor for the financial report: 14 members paid + Jim Dodd reinstated. $13,192.59 on hand today.

Tax valuation increase: Front Lot $320,400 -> $547,660; Back Lot $7,000 -> $9,600. Discussion -- this may increase tax burden.

Donna Scott’s request to use WSC for a sunrise Easter service approved by consensus.

Cleanup day moved from Easter weekend March 26 -> April 2.

Gaines Grantham continues his efforts to make sense of insurance issues.

February minutes approved by consensus as written.

Stock price for 2005 set at $250 by consensus.

Policies, Procedures and Rules approved by consensus for 2005 as presented. Stock policy will be updated to reflect input. PP&R will be posted on web page, mailed to members, and included in a notebook to reside in WSC kitchen.

Consensus is to proceed to recover stock from ex-members. Stock will go into treasury or sold to current members at board discretion. (See Procedures for Stock Transfer) Development of full plan may take several meetings.

A discussion with consensus to provide formal race on Sundays and arrange more social, cruising, and other activities for Saturdays along with dinner and dancing for Saturday evening.

Meeting adjourned at 5:30PM until April 2 after cleanup day complete.
