MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

·  To deliver high quality Information, Advice and Guidance to all potential College customers.

·  Contribute to the achievement of recruitment targets for 16-19 year old full-time learners, all age apprentices, 19+ unemployed learners, employed learners, HE learners.

·  In collaboration with the Recruitment and Workforce Co-ordinators carry out recruitment activities to contribute to the achievement of College funding and income targets.

·  Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Preston’s College is the first choice for all potential learners and customers.

·  Work with the Portfolio and Central Business Development Managers to support recruitment to Apprenticeships and Workforce training.

·  Work with Workforce Co-ordinator to ensure effective recruitment of those not in employment seeking education and training.

·  Work with the Recruitment Co-ordinator to ensure effective recruitment of 14-16 year olds and 16+ students to full-time and apprenticeship programmes.

·  Work with College students and external customers to provide a path to progression for Higher Education including support with UCAS and student finance.

·  In collaboration with the Recruitment Co-ordinator deliver impartial information, advice and guidance as part of the National Careers Service contract in all relevant settings.

·  In collaboration with the Portfolio areas, Recruitment Co-ordinator and Workforce Co-ordinator undertake customer activities to ensure effective recruitment.

·  Work with external agencies such as Job Centre Plus to recruit young people and adults not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) to all College funding and income streams.

The principal duties and responsibilities of the post provide a guide to the major areas of responsibility and include:

Learner Achievement

§  Utilise data and strategies to ensure outstanding performance within the IAG service and to be accountable for sustained improvements in learner recruitment targets.

§  Ensure that within the Department robust systems and procedures are maintained and developed to support the production of accurate and timely learner data.

§  Provide timely and relevant information and guidance to current and prospective learners, customers, parents/guardians and employers.

§  Maintain learner records and data in accordance with the College’s data management procedures and use these effectively to drive standards of performance.

§  Ensure that an entrepreneurial culture is developed where resources are established to support business idea creation and development.

Data

§  Ensure integrity of any data on input onto EBS e.g. student details, registers, courses.

Learner Experience

§  Ensure effective systems are in place to gather and analyse learner feedback and identify appropriate actions to address learner and customer needs and satisfaction.

§  Contribute to the creation of a safe learner culture and ensure that the College’s safeguarding procedures are embedded across the programme.


Quality and Planning

§  Ensure that the College, Department and external quality arrangements are consistently applied across the service and that quality control procedures are maintained as a high priority.

§  In conjunction with the College’s Quality Unit, contribute to the preparation for inspection including the maintenance of quality assurance information.

Recruitment and Marketing

§  Work with the Department Management Team to promote course provision and grow learner numbers.

People Management and Development

§  Implement agreed systems and procedures to promote personal excellence, learning and development within the team.

§  Maintain a culture and working environment in which team members are valued and in which success is acknowledged and rewarded.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Willingness and ability to work flexibly throughout the week including early mornings, late nights and weekends, occasionally across a 7 day week and be prepared to attend at any site or location all in line with the business requirement. Business hours are typically 9.00am-5.00pm Monday-Friday, the role requires flexibility outside these set business hours. At peak periods you can expect to work some early mornings and late evenings, ordinarily no earlier than 8.00am start and 9.00pm finish. Time in lieu will be accrued for hours worked over and above the 37 contracted hours. / E / A and I
